Per PWI: "The word making the rounds is that between the switch to TBS, Rampage and the new quarterly specials on TNT, All Elite Wrestling is receiving in the area of an "eight figure payday" from WarnerMedia.
Internally within AEW, this is being seen as a positive and a way to increase the company's footprint on multiple networks and additional content to produce."

Good move for AEW,I know people are knocking it but moving from TNT to TBS is and upgrade in terms of being more homes and even with Nitro being on TNT for 6 years or so most folks still lean toward the history of TBS being the true wrestling channel from Tunner.As far as what to do with the TNT Title name,just leave it alone as it sounds better then TBS and they'll still have specials on TNT and also the fact that TBS & TNT are sister stations anyways.
Also very glad that Tony Khan put that 3rd hour on a different night instead of running 3 hour Dynamites every week.3 hour weekly wrestling is brutal and burns you out(even if the product is good)

I wonder if the quarterly specials are the PPVs or separate. It'd be a huge win if Khan were able to negotiate more money than he normally makes from PPV buys to show these on TNT I would think something separate. Ppvs make them money. |

That said I think the idea behind the 4 specials is to give them more cornerstone events to book to, without having a $50 price tag on them. 12 is just too many events. 4 Huge PPV's and 4 mini-ppv's feels kinda like the Cinderella spot. |

I have so many questions, but the two I really want to know are: 1) How much was AEW compensated for the move & does it extend their current contract? 2) Does the TNT title become the TBS title? It should always have been the Television Title |

My guess is the TNT title becomes the main title on Rampage. Rather than change the name as the TBS title sounds crap.

Yeah I read that min. 10 million number somewhere else as well. Good chunk of change for making the move. Normally just hearing something from Dave AEW related is usually pretty reliable, but that changed about 4 or 5 days ago when he royally pissed off Amanda Huber. I dunno how many people in the company are gonna be ok talking to him at the moment. I suspect he's persona non-grata in that locker room right now. Likewise that's why I'm not taking it as concrete that it will stay the TNT title. Unless I'm mistaken (and I could be) only Dave has confirmed it's staying the TNT title. A week ago that would have been enough for me.
