I don't understand why they have never released a Barbarian toy in the LJN, Hasbro and Mattel lines. The Warlord usually always gets a release. Maybe it is to do with a copyright with another toy line.

He did get a Jakks Classic figure many years ago but I’d love a Mattel elite version of him to go with the upcoming Warlord.

I need Powers of Pain Barbarian and solo run 1990-91 with horns and cape. And agree with op. It's crazy he never had a figure in the past toy lines. Unsure why. I think they had planned one for him with ljn before the line got cancelled. Hasbro should definitely have rocked solo Barbarian in the same wave as solo Warlord and powers of pain would have looked cool as hasbro toys but they broke up before the line really got rolling.   |

You and me both. I would have loved a Powers of Pain Hasbro set and an individual Barbarian from his singles run. However, I think timing was the issue with him and hasbro, the set that he most likely would have been a part of for his singles run would have been series 5. But, I believe he left the company and signed with WCW at the time those were coming out so even if they did make one of him, I don't think his would have been released. As for the Powers of Pain tag team, they split up right as Hasbro was releasing series 1 so they were never going to get made. If you look at the teams that were selected for the tag team series that went along with series/wave 2, they were all teams that were around in late 1989/early 1990. Even if they were slated for that set they probably would have been replaced since those figures didn't hit the shelves until spring of 1991 and the Powers of Pain were already broken up and had completely different looks. Also, that picture of the Hasbro figures rendered for 1990 is awesome. I would have loved for Hasbro to have made all of those in the attires shown. I believe he was planned but Mattel was forced to scrap due to the concussion lawsuit. That was the rumor. I believe he was slated to in for lineups not to far after the ones with Berzerker and Warlord, around E50 or 51. But then the concussion lawsuit happened and any wrestlers who were on that lawsuit who were in the works to have figures released were scrapped. |

Ya I think they were early in the stages of making him before he got scrapped and we we're lucky to get the Warlord and Berzerker because they we're further along in the process or they would of been cancelled too.

Well...Paul Orndorff was involved in that concussion lawsuit. He got an Elite made. Warlord was involved in the lawsuit. He got an Elite made. So there is still hope. Surely they don't plan on releasing a Warlord Powers of Pain Elite without The Barbarian. That would be stupid.

Koko was in Elite 44 and got scrapped, he made it as far as the pre-order stage then got replaced by Sin Cara. I believe they said a part of someone's tooling was from an unreleased Barbarian. Need both versions of the Barbarian.

Actually it’s a great idea to release Powers of Pain Warlord while they have him available. Hopefully Barbarian is made available to them soon and we’ll get 2 figs of him. Smart move.
