Decided to bring this thread back. Any memorable fig hunt stories. Could be recently or as a kid. Has something crazy or funny happened during a hunt, Ever got in a fight with someone over a figure, what's the furthest you've driven to look for figs? And don't post the hulk Hogan one đ

My favorite is the MOC LJN Warrior figure story on here & the truck driving uncle finding figures.

Finding a box of Elite 11 is probably my favorite. I was certain I was going to have to pay top dollar for that Punk.
Discovering an untouched display of AEW Unrivaled Series 1 is up there too.

Recently I watched a guy huddle over the Target Wrestlemania display and he dumps all the figures in his cart then takes all the ring cart basics and dumps them in too and leaves
Pretty ridiculous especially considering they arenât worth anything crazy just taking away from a kid or collector who wanted it
for me personally probably waking up at 7am for a few days straight to get AEW 2 at Walmart. I got it, it was worth it

One of my favorite hunts , I could barely remember I had to have been 3 or 4 this was around 2001. My parents were looking for figures for me, and we found this toycon or convention, don't remember what it was exactly. But I remember they're being wrestling memorabalia everywhere. And I walked away with some bone crunchers and like 3 Of the big bashin brawlers it was a sting Nash and Goldberg

It sucked at the time, but my favorite story now will always be the guy here who saw me grab a figure one morning, then trailed me through the store. He DM'd me on here a couple of hours later asking if I was the one he saw, then recounted to me my steps through the store. Then he trailed me to another site, and started harassing me there. Fortunately, the admins here took my concerns about this seriously, and he went through about 4 or 5 new accounts before giving up for quite a while. I'm about 98% certain he's still on here, and I know under which name, but that's got to be the most f*cked up thing I've ever seen in regard to a figure that nets checks the big reselling site $15 to $25 in profit now.

OK I have one. My daughter and I drove to Columbus to attend the first ever NXT show outside of FL. While there we stopped at Target and HOF series 1 was just hitting stores. I asked someone to look to see if they had some in the back and he was super nice and helpful, went to the back, and came back with a case of em. I grabbed Warrior and Slaughter and text a friend to see if there were any he wanted. He didnât get back with me right away so I told the Target employee thatâs all I needed and he took the rest of the case back to the back. After purchasing the two figs I wanted we went across the street to Best Buy to look around. While there I finally get a reply from my friend saying he wanted Trish. We return to Target and couldnât find the employee that helped us but did see another and explained we were just there and got a couple figures and the other guy took the rest back and politely asked if she could go back and get them because there is another one I need. She tried saying whatâs on the shelf is all they have. I told her I know thatâs not true because I was just there a few minutes ago and they had the figures in the back, I got what I needed, and the guy put them back. This went back and forth a few times until she reluctantly went back to pretend like she was checking. She came back and said they werenât there. Iâm extremely frustrated now but I just say OK and walk away. I then try to find the guy who originally helped us walking all over the store not being able to locate him. After a couple times walking over the entire store we find him stocking shelves in the grocery section. Explain the situation and he gladly goes back to retrieve the case, I get Trish, and made sure I found that girl to show her that I was able to get it without her help prior to purchasing it.

As a kid, it was going into the local store here in the midwest called Hills and seeing pegs upon pegs full of Hasbro figures. That was my first hunting experience and I would go every week.
As a adult, the worst hunting story I ever had was at a Meijer store when E16 was hitting. I only had the cash to buy one figure and they had Diesel and Bossman.
I went with Bossman hoping Diesel would be there during the weekend when I got paid. Went back and Diesel was gone. Never saw him again.
The best experience I had as a adult was going to a Toys R Us when the 2 pack with YouManga and Estrada was hitting. I got to the store a few minutes before open and a couple other people were there. Doors open and we all head back to the figures. 2 of the people wanted elites and one other person and I split up the 2 Estrada/Umaga packs they got. I have never had a more friendly hunting experience than that.
Also seeing the AEW series 1 display was nice.

I just had to touch on the 2nd sentence. I absolutely hate how Meltzer and most wrestling news sites fail to acknowledge Columbus as the first out of Florida NXT show.

I got it, it was worth it I found a fresh case of Aew series 2 someone had hid it in the bike aisle high on the shelf. Something made me check that section glad I did. I've since sold that set and don't collect aew anymore but still memorable hunt

And a follow up to this story. My daughter remembers this trip to Target more fondly than the NXT show or MITB in Columbus a couple weeks later. She still brings it up and every time weâre in the area she goes âwe need to go to that Target and find our friend.â

The most exciting for me was probably finding E64 Pete Dunne. The series was still very new to hitting stores and the closest Target to me had the inventory jump on Popfindr overnight, so I went there to go in at open. I asked the employee in electronics if he was able to check for any product in the back, and about 5 mins later he came back with a case. I took Dunne from the case, handed it back to him, and was on my way.
Finding E69 at Walmart for $7 was a fun one too.

For the love of god can we skip the âI had a hulk Hogan figure in my hand and a bidding war broke outâ story in this one? Itâs not even remotely funny now.
As for the thread, Iâve not got too many as in Australia I have to order lost my stuff online. That said Iâve got mad regrets about being on holiday in the UK before I got back into collecting and not buying a million figures in Smyths.
Going way back after hasbro ended there was a rough few years here, as we never got bend ems. I recall spotting wcw toy biz as the first figures in years, but the set plus rind on lay-buy. Was paying them off with my pocket money and before I finished jakks bca hit, the wrestlemania 15 set. Cancelled the lay-buy got my money back and got from memory, Kane, mankind, Austin, undertaker (possibly the two packs) and rock. May have even been the rock owen Hart two pack there too. Was blown away as remember this is pre internet for me so I didnât even know these existed.

Another recent one is finding DOD series 2 at Walmart except HHH. They had 4 Kane's 2 shows and couple of Kofi and Beth's. Went to scan em and they all rung up at 5$ each, it felt like I was robbing them . I left with the 4 Kane's 2 shows 2 Beth's and a Kofi all 9 elites for a total of 50$

I found a elite 12 Kane behind a bunch of rings on the bottom shelf of Kmart after searching for that figure forever and always missing out on it in store and online. Made my day.
