Right, that’s what it means, but in Jeremy’s warped secondary market value mind is it going to be used as a super limited sub-line within the main lines that nobody is going to find? Or is Sting going to be in every case? They already revealed the lineup for Unmatched 2, Sting is in it, he probably just has a chase as well I know he’s in it. But I wouldn’t put it past Jeremy to make the Luminaries Sting a super rare 1/100 figure inside the Unmatched line where technically it would still be considered a Series 2 figure. I just have no faith in Jeremy, because he seems to care more about how figures will do on the secondary market rather than making sure they make it to the retailers shelves with any consistency.

I think Jeremy has learned by now that people are not fans of his low number chases especially when the regular ones can’t be found either

From what was said the chase figures are going to be more common in the unmatched set like the ufc line and mattel figures. The numbering could be because there might be exclusives in between the waves. Sting is mainline, Jeremy might be running the legends like the tna line where there inserted in the asst. The LJN figures are more on par with toymakers wcw, but a bit larger than the wcw galoob,

Then numbers #10-#15 Would be the regular series 2 with #16 & #17 making up the chase/rare figures. By this logic, the LJN style Cody (#08) and the Luminaries Sting (#16) both look like they're going to be either chase or rare figures in series 1 and 2. Which is where my interest is with this post. Will there be 2 different Cody's in series 1? 2 different Stings in series 2? Surely the sting that was shown would've suited the regular Unrivaled/Unmatched style more and an older version of sting would've suit the "Luminaries" thing better? It's interesting (to me at least lol). Looking forward to seeing what happens.

I haven’t seen a single AEW figure at my regular WalMart since the series 1 shipper display. And Target stores in my area each took at least 2 or 3 months before they received a single case of figures to restock the one series 3 some of the had received 2-3 months earlier.

Theory 1: These are just mockups and the actual numbers will be different. Theory 2: While LJN Cody and Luminaries Sting are in the original 6 lineups for their respective waves, they will ALSO be the #8 and #16 figures as well.
Note that we know Britt is one of the rare/chase figures but I'm not sure if we've heard the second for wave 1. It could be the Cody LJN figure. Wave 2, I don't think we've heard any news about Chases yet, so it could be the Sting. Again, I could be very wrong here but I'm just trying to come up with theories.

Yeah I think you're on the money with the theories really. It's either a mock up and the numbers don't mean anything or they will indeed take up a rare/chase slot in their respective series. Really looking forward into seeing how it plays out.

I like that Cody attire so do you think they would make that same attire in normal figure form

I honestly think it’s just: -#s 1-5 in the set are the regular figures. -#s 6-7 in the set are the chase/rare -# 8in the set are the Luminary/LJN (which will apparently be alternating per series)
As to why they changed them up, I think it was simply a way to hang a hat on how the alternating LJN/Luminary figures separate Unmatched from Unrivaled.

After the final images and box art leaks have all come to light, it turns out you were correct . The set looks to consist like this 1.Kenny Omega 2.Darby Allin 3.Miro 4.Britt Baker 5.Dustin Rhodes 6.Either (Chase Darby Allin or Rare Britt Baker) 7.Either (Chase Darby Allin or Rare Britt Baker) 8. Cody Rhodes (LJN)

I honestly dont care at all about about the numbers on the packages and can’t believe so many people are trying to figure it out. My main concern based on new pics ive seen is ljn cody is only slightly bigger than an aew figure. If your going to do ljn figures release them in proper scale or call them osftm wcw style! Why cant jeremy do these correctly. This was the same Issue in the classic superstars line!
The young bucks 2pk was in correct scale. I was so hoping cody would be too
