Why would you want Grimes anywhere near that dead division or even on that abysmal show? A total waste of him, imo. I want to see him doing something in big time wrestling because he’s an entertaining character, and he’s a better fit for 24/7 hijinks than anywhere on SmackDown. He’s too good to keep on a vanilla midget niche show. I’d like to say the same for Dexter Lumis too, but I think he might be another Adam Rose type situation where it doesn’t translate to the big time. The 24/7 division is a complete joke and not even really a thing anymore. Everyone in that division are losers with no direction and Grimes could do way better. I’m all for him on the main roster but going to raw would be the worst thing to happen to him

Saw rumors that Joe is coming back as some sort of authority figure on NXT.

In an update Meltzer says Joe isn’t gonna be cleared to wrestle, so he is back with Wwe in an on tv nxt role and to work at the performance center.

Baffles me they put the million dollar title on Knight. Never been into his in ring work, but he’s a good promo. Grimes on the other hand is getting over so it just felt like a mistake to have him lose here, imo. It's a shame the NWA couldn't be a bigger thing, because that was the perfect place for Eli Drake. He was really good in impact, but he stuck out as a really big deal with that old school nwa vibe. Was crazy over with that crowd too. L.A. Knight is not a good fit for NXT at all. He'd probably be successful on main roster.

Good show, but I don’t see it in Kross. Is he Supposed to be great because he’s big and makes a wide eyed gritted teeth face? I’m not impressed. I’d have liked Dunne to take it, as he was far and away the most impressive person in that match. His expressions remind me of PAC, and he looks imposing…aside from the mink cloak he wore out. It would be a huge mistake if he never becomes proper NXT champion,

It would be a huge mistake if he never becomes proper NXT champion, There was a time where Kross was super over with the indies/impact crowd. He had kinda a brawler/mma hybrid style and he had really good matches with Eddie Edwards in their impact feud. I guess you can chalk it up to him being a bright spot in an era of TNA that had very few. He just isn’t up to the caliber of wrestling that goes on in NXT and he is struggling to find a place.

But he’s so…lackluster, I guess is the word.

It would be a huge mistake if he never becomes proper NXT champion, You take away Scarlett and the entrance and he’s just generic bald dude with tattoos. Great look, decent in ring. Would be perfect in the 5 minute match role on raw or something but not in nxt or somewhere that’s more in ring work based

Watched the main event. Decent match, but Kross is just a guy. Everyone else worked their butts off and he was…a jag.

Kross has never been a good in-ring worker.
Not in MLW, not in Lucha Underground, not in Impact, not in NXT.

I'll ignore all the whining and bitching about Kross - regarding his performance, ability etc... What I will say, is that he's pretty much done as far as NXT is concerned, and needs to move up ASAP. Like I said before - as with Cole (and Balor), he's got too much presence to be stuck there. He needs to be on the main roster, rubbing shoulders with McIntyre, Lashley, Reigns et al - not facing sub-200lb cruiserweights. Let him either drop the belt to Dunne or Gargano, or everyone's favourite geek, O'Reilly at TGAB - preferably in another multi-man match, so he doesn't get pinned, and call it a day. Another thing I'll say, is that Mercedes deserves better than this, better than getting murked by some silly, supposed, supernatural entity - especially when you look at who they're keeping the belt on.

Good Takeover, but not even close to a great one. Probably one of the weaker ones but I've yet to see an actual bad one. Ever match was missing something.
Opener was far too short. All 6 guys can go but match felt like it was only just getting into 3rd gear.
Xia Li / Martinez was fine but they really need to get to the point with Mei Ying. The match felt like a build up to nothing again.
Grimes / Knight was a good ladder match from 2 guys you wouldn't expect to thrive in such an environment but lacked the emotional investment it needed. Really expected DiBiase to screw Grimes but the heel just wins. Shane not to see a Cave In from a ladder too.
Gonzalez shouldn't need Kai saving her from defeat. This should have been a one and done feud but doesn't really seem like it will be.
And the main event completely lacked any sort of big fight feel. Not a fan of multi man matches main eventing Takeover. I know I'm in the minority that actually quite like Kross but what next for him? He's just ran through your entire main event scene. One more big match and he needs to go up to the main roster and be a star. Honestly don't even care if he vacates the title on the way out now, the experiment has failed unfortunately.

If what I looked up is accurate, that was only the 2nd multi-man NXT Championship match to take place on Takeover. And 3rd overall in the history of the brand with the 60-minute Ironman match last year.

Is Johnny Gargano’s thing that he doesn’t sell? At all? He no sold three superkicks in the space of a minute. He was running around after being tree slammed on the apron. Slow down. Sell something.
