I haven’t had a chance to watch the entire video but from what I watched, Mitch doubled-down on his decision to change the colors. The reasoning? He felt Hasbros were more vivid so his figures should be too. So he compares them to Akeem and Crush….I commented on the video but this time I really hope people let him have it. I think the factory made them that colour and Mitch is trying to save face (and money) by saying he instructed them to do that (a reason that makes no sense).
Or... the gold paint/plastic was too expensive to cheaped out on the yellow.
Either way, it sucks for all of you not getting what you pre ordered.

I will keep my order to see these in person as I don’t think these will be hard to resell at cost (which although I have to pay s/h/taxes would very likely be much cheaper than Mitch‘s afterparty prices). But if these look cheap, I am out and will focus on ZST and WWE Retros. I am tired of the other idiots. |

I made a sheet tracking all of my preorders because after a year plus on some of them, I forget what I had ordered. these are what I have preordered and the dates, from oldest to newest

considering all of the delays, I don't think Zombie series 2 actually went into production until after my late preorder in Feb. I grabbed Bundy during the last wave of preorders because I assumed they were in route or would be shipping within weeks. I think that was him reopening it to bulk up production before committing to the production run. and even then, it's going to be almost 7 months on that one for me.
Haku is still the longest preorder on any of these figures, coming up on 15 months. I got my tracking yesterday and live like 15 minutes from Figure Collection HQ so I imagine I'll have it today

watching Mitch's video makes me glad I've not wasted time buying MoM because frankly, they're not worth it. he's cut the cost of gold-coloured plastic, and he's trying to make it sound like a sensible move
MEN ON A MISSION NEVER EVEN WORE YELLOW!!!! Their outfits (that these are based on) were purple and gold, King Mabel especially wore gold because he was King, and gold looks regal
utter shambles, yet again from a company that released an Ahmed which needs to be glued upon arrival. bullet dodged thankfully

In my opinion mitch has the nice guy act down but he's nothing but a glorified scalper and seems very shady to me. If you don't preorder his product he charges more than double for it. 78 bucks for ahmed is insane. Why should someone be penalized because they wanted to wait and see what the final product looked like before handing their money to him. Not a good look for a start up company trying to build a loyal fan base.
I think Mitch has made mistakes, and the MOM figures look really bad after production.
BUT I do understand why pre-orders are less -- he is taking no risk. If you pre-order, he is making your figure to order. If you buy it after, he is taking the risk - because if it doesn't sell, he's stuck holding the bag. So he charges more.
You might disagree, but there is a rason
I definitely get your point but i feel double the price is way too much. 10 or 15 bucks i feel would be acceptable |

I saw mitch's video explaining his reasoning for changing the colors and while i understand it, there is no way he should have done something so drastic without input from his paying customers. He advertised a product looking one way and many people including myself preordered figuring that's how they would look and now the finished product is totally different. I get that things can change slightly from prototype to finish but this was a decision he made and not anything to do with the factory which is what i first thought happened so now hearing he chose this makes it even worse I could see if the actually wore yellow and he wanted it brighter to make the cartoony figures pop more but now they are depicted in attires they never wore. Completely inaccurate |

Completely inaccurate given that 3poajamie has already pointed out on their podcast that Mitch showed their "artwork" for upcoming New Rockers figures and it is as lazy as they come - one body design with no variation, and his response was "It's just a picture, not the figures", so it doesn't surprise me that he's cut more corners by using a cheaper colour for his next release
this is a cost-saving measure. gold is obviously a more expensive option than the yellow dye for the plastic, so he's trying to upsell his cost-saving measure
if anything, people who preordered should receive a discount/refund considering they've bought based on artwork which the final product doesn't reflect, it's almost like people were intentionally misled

It’s obviously none of my business what people do with their own money, but I do really wish the consumers could change this business model after these sub par products and delays and lies. I can count on one hand the products that have actually been delivered as promised. Hayabusa, Adam Bomb, Cardona, Dino Bravo. Like those are the only ones that pop in my mind as being worth it.

Mitch reached out directly to me last night and we had a pleasant conversation. He stated his reasons for making the change and I stated my reasons for not agreeing with it.
It is not an error from what he is saying. We talked a bit about the process of color selection for figures. I inquired about whether or not it was harder to have metallic paints done which he dismissed fairly easily even pointing out that he was able to pull it off on Godfather and Ahmed (glasses and earrings).
This one has me a bit befuddled. Gold paint can absolutely pop. I’m not sure what the price or the process is for making it and I would easily accept one of those as the reason for the change…but taking Mitch at his word, this is a creative change he wanted.
I really, really hope this does not become a future trend.

exactly, let's not forget, Mitch is trying to sell his product here - he's got to convince the buyers (us) that the product is worth us investing our money into.
at the same time, he's got to make a profit, and a metallic gold colour into the plastic would have cost more than a plain yellow dye, so this is definitely a cost-cutting measure on his part.
as Jamie said, if he had come out with that at first and said "It's not viable to do metallic gold, I'm going with an Akeem-esque yellow instead" then most people may have accepted that, but it's convenient that this is all coming out after pre-orders have closed.
will he honour refunds for those who have ordered and don't want the yellow figure?

The asking price must have been calculated before. Usually you know your expenses before you name a proce as you want to make sure that you have a certain % of profit. So the worst case would be to go out even. Cutting costs afterwards raises the brofit and reduces the value of the already sold product. If you look it up, this should be one if the definitions for greed. His buddy-attitude is nothing than an attempt to hide the true character. Honestly I prefer a guy like ZST in that case. At least he is not pretending to be your friend.

In the surface of it I don’t actually mind the yellow
OK it’s not 100% accurate, but it does pop and look good
HOWEVER what I don’t like is the card clearly not matching but more importantly the renders being gold. People should get what they purchased not something someone decided to change without warning. That’s not cool.

We, as figure collectors, really need to unionize! Seriously though, as long as enough people keep pre-ordering, there will still be pre-orders.
