Yesterday was the final call for quite a few sets.
I got the following preorders looked in:
- Demolition
- Powers of Pain
- Headbangers
- PN News (both variants)
I have ordered PN News because I was able to get it from the asylum wrestling store. Never would I have ordered from KWK directly. I still think he is in no way trustworthy.
Nevertheless I really like PN News / Cannonball Grizzly. When I worked with mentally disabled people, we were attending a show overhere. Cannonball Grizzly and HTM were doing a spontaneous meet and greet with us (still have my signed BC Jakks guitar) and invited us to some sausages and potatosalat and a beer (how German lol). They took over an hour of their time for us which was just amazing. Summed up, I am happy to finally add him to the collection. The PN News gimmick isn’t a deal breaker for me.
Headbangers were ordered at figurecollections who took USD 40 smehthing for s/h. Compared to the asylum who took USD 25 for Demolition, PoP and 2x PN News, their charge is ridiculous. Already asked if it is an error… maybe they can forward it to the asylum. 😂

Yes he’s f’d up in the launch of his line however he is trust worthy 100% and I believe he will deliver the figs . Granted, I am quite behind. But I'm listening to the Major Podcast from January 2023. VintageFigs1 -- while being hopeful -- are giving Mitch a lot of flack for revealing artwork for cards, but say he hasn't released anything. Myers even says he's skeptical they're gonna come from China. Here we are -- 10 months later, and Mitch has put out Godfather, Ahmed, and Men on a Mission before Zombie even has shipped Series 2. Mitch has definitely made mistakes, but I'd prefer him to Zombie any day. |

So here is something interesting that is unfolding. There is a guy I follow on IG who pointed out something I wasn’t aware of and it kind of adds some perspective to a few things. instagram.com/jpdcustoms?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== In his stories, JPD customs has some unhappy words related to being kicked out of the Major Pod Facebook group. Usually I don’t really care about drama that goes on there or how they choose to run their page…but this obviously struck a nerve and was either an overreaction by Cardona or there is more to the story. The short version appears to be a photo of some broken Rush figures with a caption that reads “Tell me you’re on Zombie’s payroll without telling me you’re on Zombie’s payroll.” Matt Cardona then kicks JPD out of the Facebook group for “trying to tarnish his reputation.” JPD then goes on to point out that DFreedom works for both the MWFP and ZST. Maybe I’m just out of the loop but that is news to me. DFreedom is knowledgeable and can be entertaining but if that is true, it definitely adds perspective when listening to him criticize or praise things. |

I think I saw some of this chatter around DFreedom unfolding in the group, but I just scrolled past at the time LOL!
the thing to remember with MWFP is it's about entertainment - it's not "news" so it's not going to be 100% disclosure or factual. they're a group of guys using this outlet to promote their merch, and themselves. of course Cardona is not impartial, he's literally getting paid for ZST figures. he's hardly gonna crapon them and say "Yeah guys, this figure of mine sucks. Don't buy it!!!"
remember - you can't even see the final production version of ZSTs figures before purchasing, you're preordering figures based on concept art and ZST has no plans to move away from that model, as it suits him to put all of the financial risk of making figures onto the buyer, rather than himself and his business. by the time you're receiving the figure, you could end up with a Roadblock! by which time ZST has your money, and Cardona has received his cut.
MWFP does it's job well in promoting the initial launch for these figures, plus they'll continue to plug ZST when the inevitable "Another batch of this series has dropped" sales go live after a few months. whether he's doing it for free, or whether ZST is paying for the promotion in the form of an "advert", only Cardona can confirm but it would not surprise me if there's some sort of payment arrangement for promotion going on in the background, whether that's direct cash or a "Hey, I'm happy to front up some new Rode mics for you guys, if you can help promo for the next 2 months...." type deal

I ordered Mantaur through Rasslin' Merch (Canada) and it was free shipping so it came to $59.99 CDN. Tried to order Comet Kid, there's shipping now and the cheapest option is $22.69, so the figure in total would come to $84.68.

I don't listen to any wrestling figure podcasts, but being a part of this forum we can't help but see the reviews and the comments that these "influencers" make on these companies and their products, and it's not surprising that many of them are playing favourites and/or being "selectively critical" towards others. It's not a big deal to me, as I don't champion any one particular company, but it's pretty obviously transparent and the denial of it by some who're engaging in it is just a bit embarrassing. |

Yeah the prices along with shipping are enough to make me really think about whether I genuinely want some of these figures. ZST, for instance, I was close to buying Sullivan but at £80, I really could spend that money on something a lot better. I nearly bought Powers of Pain, but didn't in the end. I think I'll wait on the Bulldogs that are due out soon and buy those. A figure's really gonna have to appeal to me before I drop over £40 on it. |

Any one see the pic of Komet Kid (Max Moon) along side some hasbros? While the height seems close, the scale just seems off to me. The legs look a bit thin and short compared to the hasbros…I think because it has more of a neck than the hasbros, it evens out height wise; but the waist and shoulders being lower really stands out to me, in a similar way to why I’m so disappointed with the Haku scale issues. I’m sure many others won’t care; but it puts me off ordering it…. EDIT: I’m mainly talking about a comparison to Macho; as due to Tito having the spread legged lower stance it’s less noticeable compared to him. http://instagram.com/p/Cx5qC1KsbR5 |

I think it looks really good, though again, a £50+ price tag will inevitably put me off. I'll have to see how it is when people get it in hand before I consider trying to get it down the line. It is a great looking figure, though.
