Who's seen the New Rockers from Mitch! Super excited for this, he really is picking the guys that I want that fit close to the time period. And so far, it looks like he has the Hasbro style down better than any other company.
My only gripe, is I wish he would use 2 different bodies for Marty and Al. Besides the Disasters which was more by happenstance of short notice of switching from Tugboat to Typhoon, Hasbro really never used the same exact body for tag team sets.

Figheel also posted that G&G is releasing an Al Snow retro. He looks to be in a singlet and no t-shirt.

the Hasbro line was very detailed, but they also had a "cartoonish" look about them the H&F line doesn't have that, it's gone far more detailed, almost like 4.5" scaled versions of Mattel's main figure lines the problem with extremely detailed figures alongside some Hasbros - they don't blend in as well, and many collectors may want a collection of figures that just look the same from a distance
Exactly this, what my dream is, is to have figures that I can pop into a shelf amongst my Hasbro collection, in the time period it would have been released had Hasbro made it. So for instance, H&F Dino is amongst Hasbro S2, and Double J right after the green cards, and then Mitch's MoM and H/F Booger will go there too, so on and so on. I also have customs mixed in as well and some of the Mattel Retros, which in most cases the Mattels don't really look right either, at least w/out some mods, but I have some in. That sounds like a stellar collection. Mind sharing some pictures of your display?

The pose is pretty off-putting for me personally. I'd prefer a more natural stance, if I was a kid I'd be gutted with its lack of playability, but MoC it'd look nice.

While we can debate plenty about the influx of independent companies making retro figures, including the quality of the figures themselves and lengthy turnaround times, I think it's an amazing time to be a Hasbro-style figure collector with all the new figures we're getting to fill holes in our collections.
I'm so excited, in fact, that I compiled a list of wrestlers, managers, announcers, etc. who were in WWF from 1989 to 1995 and have neither had a retro figure released nor announced. Everyone has different rules, but for me personally, I'm looking to get anyone who was in WWF during the Hasbro era, plus one year before and after, so that's why I went with that timeline.
I'd also be open to wrestlers from WCW and other promotions during that era, but I wanted to make a list that we can reference and check off as more and more of these figures are announced and released.
Also thought it would be fun to start some discussion. Who from that list would you like to see get a retro figure? Who is likely to get one? Who isn't? Anyone not on the list that you want? Anyone I missed that should be added?
Abe Knuckleball Schwartz Afa Aja Kong Aldo Montoya Alundra Blayze Avatar Barbarian (singles) Barry Windham Bertha Faye Beverly Brothers (Beau & Blake) Blu Brothers (Jacob & Eli) Blue Blazer Bob Backlund Bob Holly Bobby Heenan Bodydonnas (Skip, Zip & Sunny) Boris Zhukov Brain Busters (Arn & Tully) British Bulldog (RR '95/Allied Powers looks) Brother Love Brutus Beefcake (Mega Maniacs attire) Buddy Landel Buddy Rose Coach Col. Mustafa Damien Demento Danny Davis Dean Douglas Dink The Clown Dok Hendrix Dustin Rhodes Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques & Raymond) Frenchy Martin Friar Ferguson General Adnan Gobbledy Gooker Gorilla Monsoon Hakushi Harley Race Harvey Wippleman Heavenly Bodies (Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray) Hillbilly Jim Howard Finkel Hunter Hearst Helmsley Isaac Yankem Jean-Pierre Lafitte Jesse Ventura Jim Brunzell Jim Cornette Jim Powers Jim Ross Johnny Polo Judy Martin Justin Hawk Bradshaw Kama Kim Chee Koji Kitao Kwang Lord Alfred Hayes Lou Albano Luna Vachon (Not a fan of the Chella) Man Mountain Rock Mike McGuirk Miss Elizabeth Mr. Fuji (Demolition & Yokozuna looks) Orient Express (Tanaka & Sato or Kato) Outlaw Ron Bass Owen Hart (King of Harts attire) Paul Ellering Quebecers (Jacques & Pierre) Rad Radford Red Rooster Ringmaster Rob Bartlett Rockin Robin Ronnie Garvin Saba Simba Sam Houston Sapphire Scott Casey Sean Mooney Sensational Sherri Shane Douglas Sione Stephanie Wiand Superstar Billy Graham Tekno Team 2000 (Travis & Troy) Tenryu The Genius The Roadie Tito Santana (non-Matador attire) Tony Schiavone Vince McMahon Virgil (manager attire) Waylon Mercy Well Dunn (Timothy Well & Steven Dunn) Zebekiah Zeus
No matter how significant or obscure they are, I want absolutely everyone on this list. There's several others who have retro figures in the works already, and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

was at a specialty toy store in the outskirts of Cincinnati yesterday that had Zombie series 1 on the shelf. I didn't pay too much attention to them because I've got the ones I want, but it was cool seeing them in the wild. They had at least Hebnar, Sabu, and Cardona that I saw at $40 each. same store had some of the MWFP Ringside exclusives so guessing Cardona or Myers set up a deal with them Out of curiosity, what was the store? The Toy Department. I posted some pictures of their vintage figures specifically on my instagram. http://instagram.com/p/CviSVK5PUrQ

I hear you on the Takahashi post. I just thought the plastic, sheen, face sculpt looked closer to Hasbro than almost anything we've seen, including every Mattel retro.
I was surprised to see the company was Epic, as their previous releases didn't look this close to Hasbro to me.

My priorities would be anything 89-94, so I'd really like Bob Backlund in blue trunks, Quebecers, updated Macho King/Macho Man, updated Bret/Shawn/Razor/Kid/Bulldog/Rude, heel Jake, Barbarian from singles run, Tito in white, Iraqi Slaughter, some of my top wants.
I did leave off guys that are in the pipeline from the Chella off-shoots, ZST, Mitch etc.
And I know Mattel already did it, but I wish Mitch or somebody could get ahold of Tugboat and do one that's more true to the Hasbro feel. Same goes for Hart Foundation Bret and Jim and USA Luger.

Not sure about the Chella announcement from a few years (?) back and just posted above, if that is still valid. Would wish, as the attires look good and there was also a Bulldogs tag tem set that looked great. What I don’t like about Epics tag teams is the constant double use of bodies (Demolition, Killer Bees). I get that this is saving on costs, but the prices don’t justify that.

If so, maybe someone can borrow it from him to do a 3-d scan so they can make figures of Tugboat. Though, they probably wouldn't be able to use the name Tugboat on the packaging, maybe they can call him Big Sailor Guy.

I don't mind Demolition, as this is just their entrance attire and IMO will act as a compliment to the Hasbros rather than a new/replacement figure set.
Killer Bees on the other hand.... no excuse there, they could easily have re-used a different torso or pair of legs, if not the whole body, to give some variation but whatever, I believe they're both going to use the magnets so makes it easier for the factory to fit them I guess.
going forward, I'd expect the likes of the Bulldogs and other tag teams to have different bodies so they don't look like we're buying a copy/paste job.

The Chella prototype for one of the Bulldogs wasn't great, IMO, the ribbons on his gear looked like blades or something, and he looked bowlegged. I know it was only a prototype but I think it'd look do much better without the weird ribbon/tassel things. Either way, those 3 Bulldogs seem dead in the water, which is a shame, as the other two looked good and the idea of getting 3 new Bulldogs was excellent for me.

an Owen would be incredible, but I'm guessing AEW have full exclusivity locked up on that deal

Yeah, I still wish AEW would do Retros, there seems to be quite a few legends locked up with them like Arn, Tully, Dustin, Sting, and others. And even if they could do Owen, Martha won't allow WWF attires I don't think. Just a 96/97 Bulldog would work either way, since he didn't change his look much from Camp Cornette to Hart Foundation era. But, my preference would be the shorts and unbraided hair first.
