IDK, I mean I’m sure WWE lost money this past year with no live events or house shows, but still. They gotta be selling the company How many people were employed there is the better question. They released 50 people this year and still have full rosters for 3 separate shows!? Smackdown only has 23 male and 13 female wrestlers on the roster. They need a bigger midcard, main event scene and NXT callups and released wrestlers who couldve filled those roles.

What a shame about Ari Sterling.
We were SO close to having an OG WFigs member get his own action figure.

Makes me wonder what Triple H thinks. You know he can’t be happy that he’s doing his best to make new stars and they keep getting released or the much worse option, they go to raw.

Mercedes Martinez, Bronson Reed, Jake Atlas, Tyler Rust, Bobby Fish all good talents that they let go, and they were somewhat actually utilizing each week. Fish and Martinez were 2 veterans actually helping elevate younger talents as well, but for a company going back to live events, you fire a bunch of the roster. It seems as if that whole company is completely clueless on how to push there talents lately.

Sad to see Mercedes released. Was always a big fan of hers and she never really got going in NXT, something always went wrong. Surprised about Bronson Reed as well. Bobby Fish has had injury setbacks from what ive heard so maybe not a big surprise with his age as well.

I wonder what goes through their heads when trying to resign Cole yet releasing one of his buddies (Bobby Fish) at the same time.

Cardona is a true wrestling fig fan I use to post my artwork on here years ago and he emailed me and ordered a custom vinylmation of himself. I wonder if he saw my stuff on here then. I always wondered where he saw my stuff haha

Bobby Fish is a legit talent. Injury bug bit him too often. I hope he and Bronson Reed end up in MLW, they are fixing to explode in terms of streaming and need talent!!!

These releases is the Nick Khan effect. He has been given the power to make decisions to maximize WWEs profit. These releases is something that has happened many years before. Now I've never seen this huge of a bus flip. I think 2005 was the biggest I remember. Also, I don't see it ending. I think NXT UK is next.

You always want to sell when business is on an upswing to sell for the highest dollar, strike while the iron is hot sorta thing. If they sold hen business was bad, they’d get no money for it. I say they know business is about to be AWFUL and they want out while they can still get something. I know they’ve done this SORT of thing in the past, but even in the programming. There is just no effort put into this company anymore. Look at every facet, right down to the stages…it’s just a big tv now. So lazy, even WrestleMania. I have heard more than once from just family and friends like, wtf happened to the WWF!? They don’t even watch anymore but when they happen to come across it, There production quality use to be so good, it’s so bush league looking now. IDK, I guess we’ll see what happens. I do think this is a bit more than budget cutting. I don’t think they would have sold the network to NBC.

There’s only so many times you can run some combo of Apollo/Nakamura/Big E/Corbin/Kevin Owens before even the biggest of diehard fans start tuning out.

Apparently some of the talent releases are because of a hold on the territory system they were planning on a few years ago, and abandoned NXT Evolve. So they don’t need the talent to send to NXT India, Japan, China etc.

There are "several more coming" within the next few weeks.

There are "several more coming" within the next few weeks. Sounds like they are literally evaluating every single piece of talent and people that work within the company. A total restructure.

I mean, if they wanna go back to 1, 2 hour show a week they’d have a hell of a show! But 7+ hours of tv a week excluding PPV, and they essentially have enough people to operate the shows without much reserve…man, it’s rough.
I’d love to see WWE downsize in content, I still think a “wrestling seaaon” that has a stat and end would go a long way these days. Maybe have Raw one week and Smackdown the next, alternate which program is on. I don’t think we need wrestling every Monday anymore, the Attitude Era is over, the bubble has burst. We don’t need 15 PPV a year. They need to downsize right now and consolidate their content into a Diamond.

I don’t ever want anyone to lose their job for no reason, but you hear the story now that they are evaluating every single piece of talent they have. How does a guy like Elias not get released over some of these other guys. He signed an extension at some point during the that period of big money contracts. I feel like he absolutely hit his ceiling in terms of crowd reaction and merchandise. At this point based on his talent and abilities he is probably a lower on the card guy from here on out. To me someone like Bronson Reed had a bigger upside as a potential Lashley challenger. Than what someone like Elias, Ryker, or a Jinder offer at this point.
