Just a little tribute thread here to the Slicksta Brothaaaaaa!!!!! Easily in my top 5 mangers of all time. So damn entertaining. Didn't matter if it was Gang/Akeem, Sheik/Volkoff, Butch Reed,P&G etc. He blended well with all of em. And man his attire at WM III, haha priceless

One my all time favorites. The guy was just entertaining to me. It’s too bad none of his guys got any gold. I remember finding his LJN figure on a peg in a store in Quebec back in ‘92. I thought I had found gold.

I thought I had found gold. Gang joked about this during the virtual the other day. He's like I knew when they partnered me with him he wouldnt see gold considering how zany he was.Slick told em yeah you wont be winning a title lol

It's crazy that Slick is a second generation star in the wrestling business too!
His father was wrestling great Rufus R. "Freight Train" Jones!

This is the Slickster talking at ya, hunnaaaaay!!
Like all characters, he was great when they bothered to showcase him, I thought he had a good performance at the 88 Survivor Series, but in his final year as a heel manager he was just there and did nothing relevant and was hardly focused on.

I can still recite his lines when he sold Hercules's contract to Bobby Heenan.
"I don't deal in nuthin' but caaaassshhh."

Another trivia question while back, Slick sings it better but the original is still great

What happened to him when managed Rick Martel as it didn’t last long?

What happened to him when managed Rick Martel as it didn’t last long? They used em just to get Martel over in the heel role and by 1990 they split.

''Turn out the lights, the parties over!''- Slick Awesome finisher. One of my favorites. I still wish they got a short run with the titles. I could see the Hart Foundation dropping the belts to the Rockers at RR91, then the Rockers dropping the belts to Power and Glory at WM7, then Power and Glory dropping the belts to LOD at SSL91.
