The only problem is that Luger wore white wrist tape and boots in 97 and black with the Wolfpac...Plus, moulded jeans (like the Best of Attitude HHH) would look a lot better than soft goods pants. I think that between the Legends line, Elite line, and RSC Exclusives, they could find room for both (although given how long it's been without any, perhaps that's unrealistic). I could live with either color wrist tape. Overall, I would prefer just a Wolfpac version with molded jeans, but like you said, the fact that we haven’t gotten one in years seems to indicate that there aren’t many slots for a Luger in Mattel’s mind right now, and looking at what they’ve done with Sid and the DX Army, 2-in-1’s seem back in vogue at the moment. Someone else suggested a 2-in-1, but with his 1999 Total Package attire, which would have black wrist tape and boots. Perhaps Mattel could go with that.

I'm only interested in a 1988-1990 version.

Honestly, I could live with that as long as it's a ponytail head and black trunks. That said, the Wolfpac Smash and Slam Luger had white wrist tape, so truthfully it wouldn't bother me on an Elite even if it wasn't the most accurate to real life. Also, it did seem to happen at least once:

Ponytail head, black trunks, white boots. Cloth Wolfpack shirt would be a bonus.

I would like the look with the flag shirt when he slammed yokozuna on the intrepid. That's it for me. Late 80s wcw luger would be cool.

I need either yellow or blue trunks and also a wolfpac version Those would be my top three choices. The early 90s Luger would be great and can be the figure with the chase. Luger figures I would like: Early 90s Blue: Early 90s Yellow: Wolfpac in Jeans: 1995/96/97 Luger: USA Lex from SSL93:

Wolfpack, Yellow, and Blue I would like to have as my top 3 probably. I talked to Luger during Wrestlecon this year and he said he was still signed with Mattel to make figures of him. So I hope a new figure is close to coming out.

Black trucks white boots WCW era. My best memories are of him like that. A retro in the USA gear would be perfect

With DOD ending, Fan central moving to Amazon, Survivor Series elites open to multiple retailers now and Walmart lacking an exclusive line (besides MOTWWEU), I think it would be a great idea to have an Icons line exclusive to Walmart (even though I hate exclusive lines).
Series 1: Beth Phoenix, Lex Luger, Rob Van Dam, The British Bulldog, and Yokozuna.
All of them except RVD are on the Legends section of WWESHOP. With RVD rumored to be in a future elite lineup, it seems like he is back under a deal. IMO it would be a missed opportunity by Mattel not to take advantage of the Icons episodes, especially if they end up only focusing on people signed to Legends contracts. The episodes could promote the figures and the figures could promote the series on the network.

A mullet haircut that wasn't right for that era (I think they reused a basics head?) And there wasn't the gold around the tights and banners on the boots. It feels they should have a hanging triangle piece in the front and back of the tights. Plus the forearm band...Did anyone ever talk about this when the figure was released?

The Elite "All-American" Lex that came with those dumbbells definitely isn't based off SummerSlam 1993, but more so his look from 1994. By then, Lex had grown his hair out a bit after cutting it short on the Lex Express tour before his match against Yokozuna and his attire was much simpler - no gold belt trim/boot flags/elbow pad/loincloth piece. I'm pretty sure his SummerSlam attire was a one-off, but it would look great in figure form because of all the added details.

It always felt off to me. He needs to be darker tan and shinier. The extra pieces and shiny gold would make the figure pop especially next to yoko. The existing on feels like a basic.

They were supposed to announce another line for WalMart, but I haven’t seen anything yet. The only problem with the Icons idea is it’s kind of a one-off. Shame they can’t do something similar to Legends, like the old Flashback line.

If they do, they would just need to coordinate with Mattel who is going to be covered in future seasons. Honestly, WWE should be doing this more with Mattel and the Icon episodes is the perfect opportunity not only for collectors, but for kids that discover these wrestlers most likely for the first time. If they don't do additional seasons/episodes, then it would pretty much be a one off. Walmart seems to prefer short-term lines based off of DOD and the fact that they usually cancel each line after 3 series or so.

Yeah, it is definitely not based off the Summer Slam attire, its more likely his attire from 1994/95. Its missing all the stuff you guys mentioned plus the arm bands were different. On the figure, the arm bands are blue, during the match they were red/white and blue with stars. Yeah, the extra stuff would look good in figure form, and if they could make the gold a shiny/metallic color to make it pop that would be nice. Shouldn't be that expensive to make, he should be able to fit in any elite or legends wave.

If Mattel still have the rights to him then I’d be amazed if he doesn’t appear in the next few waves of Retros - maybe in the same wave as a matching Bulldog to make the Allied Powers.
