So many of pro wrestling’s greatest tag teams have consisted of two guys that were solo stars that joined together. What are some of your favorites? Personally I loved The Bar, Billy and Chuck and Owen and Davey. Hell even Owen and Yoko was fun.

I'll go with one of the greatest thrown together teams ever: The Hollywood Blondes.

Another one that I just thought of, New Age Outlaws. Two guys whose singles careers were going no where, got tossed together into a tag team, and made history. A prime example of two guys that weren't really destined for greatness as singles talent, but get paired together just to give them something, and they score big with it, because they just worked together so well.

Lo Down, Chaz & D'Lo. Their run was short but they had some killer matches. RVD & Rey are another, the 420 leg drop kicked ass.

I’m pretty sure that the Hart Foundation was thrown together because they didn’t have anything else for Bret or Jim.

I liked how Tugboat became Typhoon and joined with Earthquake and they became the Natural Disasters. They were an awesome BIG MAN tag team for their time. And also Tugboat didn't look like a fat candy cane anymore so that was a plus.

Money Inc always springs to mind for me. 2 well established singles guys who were suddenly Tag Team champs in an era where that just didn't happen in WWF.

Again, this goes back to why I always have a hard time saying that the LOD were the greatest tag team ever. They would dominate actual legit tag teams in tag title matches, and then lose every one of their tag titles to two singles guys put together.
Steve Regal and Jimmy Garvin in the AWA Mike Rotunda and Steve Williams in the NWA Ted DiBiase and IRS in WWF Billy Gunn and Jesse James in WWF.
Which then goes to show that another great thrown together tag team is the New Age Outlaws!
