Any fans? Favourite fights? Fighters?
Like wrestling, hockey is MUCH tamer than it was in the past. Fights are rare and genuinely sh*tty nowadays. Teams used to have several guys that were ready and willing. AKA, the good ol' days.
PJ Stock and Stephen Peat always comes up in great fight conversations. PJ Stock would always "wave" after his fights. It was WILDLY OVER in Boston and he was a huge fan favourite.
==========
Tony Twist was probably the scariest fighter in the 90's. 6'2" 260 pounds of roid infused rage. He leaves Rob Ray with a broken orbital bone and cheek bone here. Ray told the story after about how his eyeball was moving around freely in the socket as he breathed. Ouch.
==========
Some guys throw 50 punches a second. Some guys throw sledge hammers. Some guys are stamina freaks and can seemingly fight forever. Darren Langdon and Marty McSorley are in that category. Grab a soda for this one.

5'10" 210 pound Tie Domi had a head like a bowling ball and could take A LOT of punches. He was smaller than most guys. He would lean down and duck away making it hard for opponents to land any clean shots. He fought with both hands but preferred the left. 6'3 225 pound Chris Simon was the NHL's "Heavy Weight Champion" this season (1995/1996). He was a beast who would get his left going and just pummel guys. Great action here. Win Simon.
DOMI vs SIMON (RD. 1)
==========
They fought 3 times this season and then played 10 more years without ever fighting again. Very strange. Round 2 looked a lot like round 1. Simon pounding on Domi like he's a small child but not really hurting him. Win Simon.
DOMI vs SIMON (RD. 2)
=========
Tie Domi with a big win in round 3. Both guys are slugging it out. Simon has that jackhammer going again. At around 33 seconds you'll see Tie duck a left from Simon and then land an absolute bomb of a right. A rocked Chris Simon immediately stops fighting and goes for the bearhug to end it. Domi lands the best punch, but Chris Simon wins the series 2 -1.

This thread reminds me of the classic Rodney Dangerfield line...
''I went to the fights and a hockey game broke out!''
