One of my favorite things to do during they heyday of Ruthless Aggression was to speak to folks who were actually at WMXX. Most-hyped show ever, Benoit finally got his moment, huge names, hot crowds, amazing building. By 2014, WrestleMania XXX came along and though - to me - it wasn’t AS humongous, it was still an incredible show and Bryan Danielson finally got his moment in New Orleans. Given that both events were a fair bit away from each other geographically, not sure how much carryover there was (though Mania is famous for bringing in folks from all over the world), but my question is…was anyone on this site at both WrestleMania XX and WrestleMania XXX? Which one did you enjoy more? Which felt bigger? Would be an incredible fandom accomplishment to have both events under your belt.

Fun Fact: I was born 13 days before Mania XX. I would have watched it on DVD about 2 and a half years later. I wasn't at either shows, I don't know why I felt the need to comment here. But god do I love Mania XX. Mania XXX isn't one of my favorites. Bray Wyatt lost, Taker lost, Orton lost, damn y'all for booing Batista.

Wrestlemania XX trumps Wrestlemania XXX on emotion and excitement even with the surroundings of Benoit's situation years later.
Daniel Bryan winning the World Title at XXX wasn't anywhere near impressive as Benoit doing it at XX. Anyone who watched XX knew of Benoit's history, and the years he has spent wrestling and when he won that title, it was just a special moment.
It's a slight shame - and I say slight because the biggest shame is that Nancy, Daniel and Chris aren't here anymore because of that horrible weekend - that Benoit's title win is never gonna be appreciated and accepted again because of that weekend in 2007.
I feel that if that never had happened, the Wrestlemania XX main event clips would be shown at so many of the special highlighted features for promos, videos and such still.

Didn’t get to attend either but I think XXX was light years ahead of XX. Would have loved to be there in New Orleans that night.

I was at 25 and 35 if that counts for anything. 35 was great, if you weren’t in the section that got blinded.

It was certainly annoying while it lasted, especially since we had a pillar from the structure covering the ring blocking part of the view. Fun show for the most part though.

I always thought it was kind of odd how Mania's 10-20-30 the winners of the world title in the main event where unlikely wwe champions, and also were very strong technical wrestlers who got over mostly due to ability bell to bell, and all 3 won (Somewhat) different world titles (WWF/ WHC/ Undisputed)
So if the streak continues, who wins at 40 and is it the Universal they win?

Man, that would be a lovely night for Cesaro. I’d just hate to have to wait that long.

Wasn’t at either but XX came off as a much bigger event than XXX. Bryan’s win was a great moment for him and his fans, but didn’t have the same emotional feel that Benoit’s had. Bryan had already won multiple world titles by that point, while fans were well aware of Benoit’s struggles to the top of the wrestling world for nearly 20 years. Him and Eddie ending the show as the champs was not only a victory for them, but a victory for fans as well who had been desperately looking for a change at the top of the WWE. A lot of people point to Bret and Shawn as having opened the door for “smaller guys” becoming the face of the company, but the “modern” landscape of the wrestling industry in the US seems to have been laid that night with Benoit and Eddie literally defying the odds.
XX also was promoted as a bigger event IMO. Superstars were showing up on major news stations and TV shows to promote the event, and it was still close enough to the end of the Attitude Era where mainstream media still treated the event as news worthy. XXX just came off as “another show” leading up to the event, as has most WWE shows have over the past decade.

I was at 30. It was a great show, live especially. As over as it sounds on TV for Bryan, when you can look around the building and just see a sea of humanity throwing their arms in the air and cheering, there’s no camera that can capture that. If you’ve ever been to a live event, you know what I mean. Multiply that times a few 10’s of thousands of people. It’s a one of a kind experience.
At the same time, that was the same Mania Taker lost his streak at. I don’t think anybody can really relate to this unless you were there, but to set the mood the best I can haha, at shows like that it is nonstop LOUD LOUD LOUD noise, everything is loud until the moment you get into your car. When Taker lost it got so quiet in that building, I started to look around like I was watching this on tv and somebody was going to come over the screen and say just kidding or something. I remember thinking, this has to be a joke or something but like, I just saw it in real time haha. Its hard to explain it’s really weird to have thousands of people go mute silent after the initial gasp of shock. I felt like someone turned the volume on my tv off, but again, I wasn’t watching on tv…it just messed with your senses so bad haha.
At the same time, 30 did not feel like a milestone Mania and I wish it was at MSG
