I remember it being Slammiversary 2015 and thinking that it would be the last TNA pay-per-view ever, I then thought October 2016 the company was done for but was surprised.
Almost five years on, AEW has taken the void they once had, and it seems the recent AEW/Impact partnership has done little to nothing for the promotion.
Where is this company going?
It is hard to watch this promotion now compared to what it used to be.
The in-ring action might be good, but there is just nothing else going for it.
The show production is very cheap and has been for a number of years.
It has just lost its UK TV deal and I think it is only a matter of time until the promotion loses its Indian, African, Mexican and Philippines TV deals. I just can't see the wrestlers sticking around for it either.
The reason I think it lost out to AEW is that it lost its character in the mid-2010s

people have been saying impact was dying or going to be dead soon for over 10 years.
Impact is the cockroach of the wrestling business, you cant kill it.

they've tried to be a wacky alternative and I think it drove away whatever crowd was left. that and their talent being consistently raided any time someone shows potential keeps them one step forward two steps back.
I would've said they should've essentially became what the NWA is now, but corgan didn't get to accomplish that before they ran him out.
so they need to conceptualize their product in a new appealing direction, and that is easier said than done.

Really don't know where there going or honestly what they've been the last few years besides basically a developmental brand to WWE/AEW.D'Amore & Callis did a good job of build talent and trying to have a direction and goal for the company when they took over I believe in late '17.Created and build talents left in right in Cage,Tessa,Santana,Ortiz,Fenix,Pentagon Jr...ect and rebuild the likes of John Morrison.Problem is that the bulk of their work went for not as they either didn't have the money to keep the talent around or WWE/AEW just came in and signed them away. The creation of AEW basically was the death nail for the revived IMPACT.
IMPACT is a lot like ROH in terms of a once great company at least when it came to in ring talent and a different view point then WWE but both companies are shells of themselfs now with very little in terms of star power or interest from the fanbase.Think their was a rumor a year ago or so of ROH & IMPACT being bought and merged by Sinclair and really wish that would have come to pass.

Yeah I didn't really need to read dirt sheet reports to tell that it was done on purpose. Impact has done that whole fake out of time routine before.

Why do people complain about a wrestling company that gives us fans an alternative to watch and see guys and girls wrestle at that we probably wouldn't see elsewhere because all the other wrestling promotions are too full of talent??
I personally am a fan of IMPACT Wrestling. It's different, it's gritty, to me it's a lot like what ECW was in the 90s. The place where the misfits go that no other wrestling promotion wants them at.
So instead of moaning and complaining that IMPACT Wrestling is still around, why not shut up and try watching some episodes and see if you enjoy it??

Impact is definitely my #2 promotion being aew right now.
It's campy and silly at times, but it works for them. The booking generally makes sense, they've got a lot of really talented wrestlers, a great women's division.
I dunno how to answer 'where it's going' really, but it's been a pretty solid promotion overall since 2018 especially considering how frequently they have had talent leave for WWE and then aew too. So wherever it's going I'm pretty confident I'm on board.

I stopped following Impact in 2013; it's so odd to see it in its current form. Glad it exists but I havent checked in; in 8 years. I think it's current state is where it will stop at; maybe a AEW buyout

I have always been a huge fan of TNA/Impact for years. That being said, there are times when I am hooked and other times when I am not. I am like most wrestling fans and rely on wrestling news sites results to see what's going on when I don't feel like watching. Specifically WWE anymore. But lately I think AEW and Impact have been doing a great job. I watched TNA religiously from 2002-2008/9. Then I was sporadic. Then 2018-2019 I got hooked again and even went to the United We Stand ppv. Then I stopped watching. Now since February I have been watching Impact every single week and every ppv. There PPV specials on the Impact Plus app are awesome. I agree with hbkbigdaddycool. You gotta watch their product in order to determine what's going on. They've got some great exclusive talent including Sami Callihan, Moose, Eddie Edwards. And particularly they are building superstars in Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, Ace Austin, Josh Alexander. Wrestlers I would have no clue who they are but now Impact brings them to us. I have to admit growing up in the attitude era was awesome. But even I am getting sick of the reused legends. I want something fresh and Impact provides that in a big way.
