What a wild and bizarre night this was. Shane goes heel (and takes WCW along with him) at the top of the show, in the middle ECW debuts and WCW and Shane temporarily turn face again to team with the WWF against ECW, and at the end WCW “turns heel” again, joining forces with ECW to form the Alliance, and Stephanie McMahon of all human-beings is revealed as the owner of ECW. www.wwe.com/videos/stephanie-mcmahon-revealed-ecws-new-owner-raw-july-9-2001

The second the Alliance was formed was when that storyline was done for. I think a better way to have gone things is a main focus of the WCW vs. WWF war, and have ECW involved, but as the wild card, basically playing both sides off of each other for their own gain. Basically as the circumstances dictated it, there allegiance could change. ECW became what it was because they were the rebels of wrestling, so rebels are what they should have remained.

Goes to show that Vince is more lucky than a genius when it comes to booking his company. Because this was a complete stinker and the fact he believed it would get over and do well is just nuts. But, when nothing is against you for competition I guess you can get away with doing that kind of crap.

You got Paul Heyman there but Stephanie McMahon of all people ''owns'' ECW. Yeah complete failure

The Invasion angle was a mess and huge let down, but even with the bad booking I can't like moments like this are still ones I remember and rewatch. The WCW/ECW turn on WWF,Steph as the owner of ECW,Austin turning on Team WWF,Angle and the milk truck...ect
But still strong feel even today 20 years later that it should have just been WWF Vs.WCW with the ECW guys picking sides with those two companies. Also with the lack of star power on the WCW side of things that a better group of WWF talent would have turned and joined forces with WCW aka not having Austin turning and overshadowing the entire angle and stable.Guys like Big Show,Faarooq,Malenko,Saturn,Raven...ect should have turned instead and been booked better and as bigger deals to fill out the roster to go along side the only two stars that they brought in in Booker T & DDP.Also one other major name should have joined be it Chris Jericho or my idea a returning Catcus Jack(yes Foley was retired a year plus once this angle started and not in great shape but as we all know now he returned multiple times in the next decade wrestling match both in WWE & TNA)
