I recently watched this again to prepare for JRs episode about it...whooo boy. It really is absolutely rotten.
Anyone else have any memories about it? Lugers title win isn't even the main event... crazy stuff altogether

Where were you when we revisited this on July 4th weekend??!! JokerFC you gotta get in on the fun that is RWN brother lol But yeah this event is still atrocious 30 years later. The night of wrestlecrap as I like to call it. To this day I'm still chanting ''We Want Flair!'' |

I feel like that Lex Luger's WCW Title win was never really accepted and appreciated then because it wasn't Flair dropping the belt to Lex. If Lex Luger finally beat Ric Flair, after so many attempts in 1988 on PPV and in 1990 on PPV and he finally does it here, the fans would have went nuts for Lex and Lex would have been a top face WCW Champion for his reign.
With that being said.... I also feel if Flair had stayed in WCW, we wouldn't have gotten the Dangerous Alliance. Plus it's hard to picture Flair in WCW in 1992. So the Great American Bash seemed like the end of the Flair WCW era and the beginning of my favourite era of WCW to be honest.

yeah 1991 wcw really kinda went to crap. and this event really did suck. it reminds me of wwf's 1994 or 1995. lots of dorky gimmiks and what not. really sucks when flair left just before this. wish luger got that win over him.
