Why is everyone so hateful about this clearance? Target is clearancing nearly every toy line... Marvel Legends, Ghostbusters, Tech Decks... This happens every time around this year. It's their "Summer Clearance Event." Relatively speaking, this is a good thing to help get newer figures on the shelf. I was at a Target and bought 3 Cena's because they were $6... I have not seen Ultimate clearanced out, but I would buy any that I see on clearance! I want "New" legends not re-releases. I want this line to do well but Mattel and target are sabotaging it at every opportunity. When you get new legends that nobody knows or cares about, you get pegwarmers like Tito, Heenan, etc. That’s why they do re-releases of Vader, Eddie, Warrior, etc., because they sell.

They can't sign guys like Jakks used to, they can only make guys that are under legends deals.

AxelSmackdown Thunder Chunky newgenandyHow do you expect this line to survive on nothing but re-releases ? All this line needs is another weasel suit heenan to officially kill this line for good. Target does not enjoy ordering a bunch of product only to see it rot and then have to mark it down a few months later.

History has shown that the sub-lines of the Mattel WWE line don't last more than a few series. I'm honestly surprised that the Legends reboot has lasted as long as it has.

my target had 0 wwe figures on sale I didn't check the one near work but that's what I'd expect to find, too. My Walmart never marks anything down, either. Not long ago they had Marvel Legends on the shelf that were three years old.

To be fair though, both Tito and Heenan suffered because of a figure in the same series being pulled (Hogan and Sting, respectively) so there were extras of them in the cases instead.

Plus, we're 10+ years into the Mattel deal now, so it's no wonder we're getting a lot of re-releases and very few new/FTITL figures... they've either done them already or can't do them.

Correct. I cannot understand all the hate. This is WWE's fault -- not Mattel's. Mattel would love to give us the figures we want if they could

Or others that they might could do, wouldn’t sell, so there’s no sense in making them.

I think all the hate on the same people being made over & over again is Jakks (the company with the line before them) gave us a darn near complete collection. Jakks went out & signed talent on their own & didn’t just rely on WWE Legends deals. Mattel did this initially with the Legends line but refuses to do so now either because they are cheap or because WWE will not allow them. If it’s them being being cheap then they deserve the hate they get.

Their current contract with WWE requires them to work from people signed under the Legends program, as far as we know. But anybody who doesn't think that clause absolutely be re-negotiated in the next contract if Mattel cared to is absolutely kidding themselves. The reality is that it's in Mattel's financial interest to leave things as is with legends. They have no reason to change things things, as it's financially beneficial for both Mattel and WWE. And that's what matters most.

I was able to grab a Nikolai Volkoff for $9.99, I'm glad I waited on him. They had Ultimate Edge for $14.99, but I left those behind.

I grabbed Volkoff for 16.99 last night. Some of the stores in my area don't even have the clearance prices at all - it's interesting how inconsistent pricing seems to be.
