While I'm not certain, I had read that it was from the June 24th 1994 house show in Canada that was a benefit with only 1,000 people. But as jason1980s pointed out the beard and Frank Boris mark kind of put doubt into that being the date. And around this time they had a match on Superstars and Yoko didn't have the beard. Maybe he can grow it super fast or something. I went to a June 17 1994 Hershey Park show that had Yoko/Typhoon and Yoko wouldn't have had the beard. The arm pad and beard makes me think it was 1995. Typhoon and the beard are the odd ones out. Given how small the crowd is, maybe it was a show Afa put on in Pennsylvania. A lot of folks involved in Maryland wrestling seem to make their way to PA shows, so maybe Frank would have been there. He used to post here, not sure his username, it's been since late 2014 at least. Edit: @allan_cheapshot on twitter posted the photo in 2020 with this note "Things got bleak for WWF in 1994. This is a shot of Yokozuna vs. Typhoon from a house show in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada." Someone does shed doubt on it though and I think they are right. The striped ref shirts I don't believe came into play until 1995 and someone says this ref doesn't have a WWF logo. |
