I remember the first JYD figure shelf warming all over. Half of them were missing the chains as well. This would've made a good chase figure for the regular elite line. It would've been a lot more limited and wouldn't be filling every store like this.
I might wait to see if they get the $6 clearance treatment.

Those Junkyard dogs sure look happy to be there π₯° In all seriousness, they need more Nashβs and Billyβs. Those would fly off the shelves.

Did all the Nash figures get sh*tty paintjobs on the beard? Every one I've seen looks like he just ate a Jello pudding cup while blindfolded.

Lol Junkyard Dog is going to warm again because of these stupid solid cases
My biggest takeaway from this new format is that I need to just move to the West Coast because itβs the only place where shelves get stocked

The solid cases shouldnβt be an issue anymore actually - theyβre individually recognized by the store unlike the main line, so they have the ability to clearance out one character of the wave. Thatβs the benefit of doing a solid case.
For example, two of my local stores had Cena on clearance but not Vader. If you notice, a lot of locations who did a reset have four tags nowadays (near me they ran out of pegs and cut the shelf tag in two and shoved two codes on each hook), one for each character in a wave.
I also found only Studd clearanced out near me recently, while they still had one Hall and one Bam Bam scanning at full price.
So if JYD gets out of control, they can just clearance him without hurting the overall line.

So I finally got my Nash preorder from Target a few days ago. The er had no shirt in the package. Anyone have any experience with Mattel over an error? Because Target is sold out of Nashβs and I canβt get a replacement, only a refund. Thanks.

Thanks. in all honesty, your best bet is holding onto it, watching for it to come back online and ordering a new one with hopes itβs complete then returning the other one. Someone I know had the same issue and it sucks but it seems to be a game of patience (which is running thin over these preorders and delays I am sorry youβre delaying with this)

The last three series of legends have been odd at best. Beefcake and DDP not available at retail, never saw a DiBiase, then both this current series and the last series With the individual cases has been madness. I think last time I saw Mach alone for a few weeks, then Hall was everywhere and Savage was gone. Then Bigelow showed up among a sea of Halls. Then finally Studd showed up for a hiccup after everyone else was gone. This time I saw Piper and Dog together first, then a bunch of Billy and a few scattered Pipers, then more Gunn and JYD without Piper, and finally a bunch of Nash. Worst of all is that within a month theyβve pretty much all disappeared. You really have to get there at the right time to get the figures you want. 3 weeks ago there were Halls everywhere, now that series is gone without a trace. I donβt know if each target just gets fewer figures, but the last series came and went within one month. This looks to be happening with series 12 as well.

My biggest takeaway from this new format is that I need to just move to the West Coast because itβs the only place where shelves get stocked LMAO not anywhere that I've seen in California. Unless you're looking for an endless supply of weasel suit Heenans. Still dozens of those at every location! I just tell myself these figs are 40 bucks a pop retail and order them off ebay. Am I being impatient? You bet. Am I being price gouged? Absolutely. Do I really mind when there's only 1 or 2 figs in each line I'm interested in? Not at all. At this age I'm too busy with work to drive around multiple counties in hope of finding these on the shelves of any stores that list them as "in stock". And when I factor in the price of gas this year I'm nearly breaking even with ebay anyways. Especially if its just one figure I'm after.

I've already done it with one or two figures. I did it with MOTWU because it was a lost cause finding the previous two series. What got me here? Making 20 trips or more to Target at the beginning of the year trying to score a RR Ultimate Warrior and coming up empty. The gas I wasted on its own was enough to convince me it's not worth hunting anymore (forget about all the time, as that was considerable, too ).

Billy Gunn has yet to hit Houston. Very frustrating. I have JYD via online and found Piper and Nash in stores (the only Nash I've seen actually). I haven't seen a single Gunn online or in stores here in my local market. Very frustrating.

Honestly JYD was such a bad idea for the chase. Piper, Nash and Billy Gunn are all infinitely more popular characters, with the latter two especially having so many more interesting looks.

Actually, wouldn't the figure you think would sell the worst be the best option for the chase? They don't make any more of the figure with the chase than the others in the set, and having two different looks for that figure would help sells. For instance, if they made 1,000 figures of JYD (granted no where near the actual numbers) in just the red tights, and only 500 want the figure, then you are left with 500 figures no one purchases (minus if some people purchase 2, one for MOC, one to open. Or customizers). But, if they make 1000 JYD figures (750 red tights, 250 blue tights), and still only 500 people want the figure, some of those people may purchase one of the red and one of the blue because they want both version, now you are only left with 250 figures that no one wants (again, minus if some people purchase 2, one for MOC, one to open. Or customizers). It seems like the chase would help sell more of the total number of figures made.

What if you only kinda casually like JYD and want his figure, but you're like "I'll pass on the red just incase I can find the blue down the line, I'm not buying him twice". I feel like people are less willing to buy both when it's someone like that, than when it's a DX or NWO member for example. I'd have short packed JYD because the demand just isn't gonna be there for JYD in (almost (2022). It's not like it's his first figure, and neither the red or blue are his most iconic looks either.
