Someone tweet the GCW champion and his buddy and tell them they are our only hope. They love that Star Wars stuff.

i cannot believe people sit around all day and just complain about every single little thing about this. they made it clear: if this doesn't get funded, we don't get anything else. even if you don't want the damn thing, that seems like incentive to back it even if yr just gonna resell it?

How dare I not have $280 tied up for a month, which might get refunded then… or I buy a $280 item I don’t want.
You people are ridiculous.

Don't buy it, if you don't want it, fella.
Vote with your dollar. If you don't think it is good enough to drop $250 on it, vote no.

People are acting like $250 isn't a significant buy-in if it's something you don't want. Even if you're looking at it as an investment, you're still spending money right now for a potential gain months down the line. That's a significant risk for a lot of people.
I mean, don't blame people's disinterest. Blame the company that, against all precedent and common sense, decided that requiring immediate payment on an expensive crowdfunded item was a good idea. Because I guarantee you that's the biggest barrier for most people.
I've backed a lot of Kickstarters (and Hasbro's HeroQuest project). Anyone who's backed stuff can tell you the problems here, beyond the obvious issues with immediate payment and its incompatibility with a crowdfunding model: 1. It's not a very impressive set for the cost. Everything's nice, but a ring, entrance, and Ultimate figure doesn't feel equal to a $250 price point. Look at that beast of a Galactus HasLabs is releasing. Obviously it's much more expensive than even this, but it's impressive even to see pictures of. It has presence. This just feels like a collection of pieces. 2. Almost everything in the project is a more expensive version of stuff people already own. 3. The project is locked to a very specific era of wrestling with a niche level of popularity. Maybe including ring skirts from other eras would've helped broaden the appeal. 4. There are very few tiers here, when we can all think of a lot of potential value-adds and incentives that might cost out pretty reasonably (outside mats, show-specific signage, maybe even a generic ref figure). It doesn't feel very full as is, if that makes any sense. Even barricades or an entrance ramp would've made it feel more like an arena set. I think a lot of people would've jumped for the old blue cage.

I don’t collect New Generation at all. I have switched to WCW 96-01, mostly nWo and the main event guys. Also AEW mostly, I’m all in with their line!!! I would definitely support a crowd funding from Mattel for a Nitro stage and such. If I bought this I would have to sell both figures as I don’t want them, I would sell the ring and I would sell the entrance stage cause I have no use for it. Not gonna spend $280ish to then try to sell it for around that and hassle.
If it was say $100 for the stage and Diesel I would probably get it and give it my son to play. That ring and price point is killing this thing in my opinion, not so much the Slaughter fiasco.

My main want from this is the entrance, to display with my New Generation Elites. Which isn’t worth tying up $280 for a month. Let alone the “hassle” of selling the ring and Diesel. Haha After that, I’d be down to own that Doink… but I definitely don’t see this reaching 7,000 backers. It might cross that 5,000, but I don’t see that 2nd Tier getting unlocked.

817 backers so far. Definitely don’t see it making it to the doink lol. Honestly don’t see it making it the 5000

I’m remaining hopeful on this but with Mattel hitting only around 16% of their first goal, I have my doubts. That said, I’m still backing it and I encourage many others to do the same!

I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that people ARE voting with their dollar. The thing isn’t gonna make it to 30% funded in the given time frame.
Now next we’ll have Mattel “extend the time frame to give collectors an opportunity to get in on the fun!”

I have my doubts and worries about it being funded but it's really odd to see people just straight up give up on this after 2 days. if anything, i'd expect a decent surge of buys next month when it's about to end. why would you pledge $250 and have it sit in limbo for a month rather than just buy on the last few days

Even though it’s only been 2 days, usually these things are moving along nicely or in some cases fully funded. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable expecting 80% of the market to show up in the last few weeks but you never know. I feel like most people that want this, already funded it.

It’s not making it, which is a shame. I’d love to own an Ultimate Edition Diesel, and Doink The Clown. It’s been repeated ad nauseam, but the cash being required immediately is a killer. Plain and simple. That’s what will be the cause of this failure.

It will be interesting to see what happens though if it’s the 12th hour and it’s a distance away from being funded, who bites? Does everybody just fund it at once, or do people get turned away because it’s so far from being funded And the Doink goal just seems like an impossibility honestly haha. I wish they’d just include Doink in the regular goal and call it a day.

really surprised the ringskirts are at the highest push, those would be the cheapest thing to produce out of everything in the set. IYH and Mania are def skirts i would want on this. if this makes it to 5k I'll probably sell the figs but don't think it has a chance in hell to get to 8k
