If this underperforms, Mattel should take a look in the mirror. Charging at the time of order is really dumb. All they had to do was copy Haslab step for step, and they somehow managed to botch it. In one sense, we are only talking a month, but it is asinine to charge at time of pre-order and then have to possibly refund everyone. All this is going to do is force/convince a lot of people to not order until the final days. I mean especially with all the other SDCC exclusives and preorders for WWE and other brands going up this week. Just doesn’t make sense. Why let Mattel play with our money for a month There's also a psychological aspect. People are more likely to order now if payment doesn't come due for a month, especially given all the pre-orders and exclusives dropping right now. That gets you closer to the production number. And there tend to be surges once hitting the "it's getting made" number and the stretch goals. People who either wait on the sidelines or decide to buy a second for resale purposes. Charging up front removes any incentive to commit early. Which means you're also possibly losing all those folks who would jump in late, since some portion of your buyers know for sure they're going to order, but will now keep their money in their own bank account as long as possible. Maybe none of that matters and Day 1 orders blow by 5k. But it's just such a strange decision just to have cash on hand one month early. |

Something decent, even if it was an Ultimate Bret or Shawn repaint or something. |

Another Doink doesn’t move the needle for me, but I’ll take him for “free.” I love the skirts, though. Hopefully we can get them both unlocked. I was expecting three tiers. Maybe if we get the other two they will announce one more.

Pretty excited for the ring, entrance, and the Ultimate Diesel. On it's own it was an easy buy and the Ultimate Doink and extra ring skirts are just icing on the cake. If this is what they're starting with I can't wait to see what follows, assuming this hits the 8k which I'm sure it will.

Yup, goes live today and will be up until 8/22. Since it's crowd-funded, it will not sell out, so you're fine ordering on the last day if you wanted. |

Charging after a successful project's funding period is standard. That's how Kickstarter does it, and as far as I know what's what Hasbro does for its crowdfunding project (at least it was for HeroQuest, which I backed). People are more willing to back when they don't have to pay up front, and also when they see a lot of other people backing it. So interest steamrolls from the initial backers, to the ones who gain confidence in the project from seeing a lot of initial backers, and then to the late impulse backers when they get their email reminders near the project close. Just an odd choice here. |

Eh, I'm fine with it, especially if that means more New Gen randos like Waylon Mercy or Duke "The Dumpster" Droese. I'm not even sure who the holy grail First-in-the-lines are for Mattel anymore. Owen? Tall order. Personally I'd love to see Ahmed Johnson and Al Snow. The other missing FTITLs are undercard guys like Gangrel, Adam Bomb, Crush, etc. - all guys I'd love to see, but The Goon isn't that far below them. And he's toyetic AF lol. Zombie Sailor signed most of them Dino Bravo Power & Glory Bruiser Brody Rev Slick Jeff Jarrett Raven Sabu Brooklyn Brawler Rock & Roll Express Well, Zombie Sailor also signed RVD, but there’s rumored to be an RVD for Mattel. So maybe it’s a 1 off deal with Zombie Sailor which helps since he’s signing everybody that is fans want made in Mattel style |
