I not only love their product but how they are so kind to answer us to the best of their ability. This is a great post and I hope they know how much they are appreciated. I KNOW they want Legends ... but for the life of me ... I am stumped why WWE has people in the Hall of Fame but we can't get figures of them. I really want to privately drink beers with those two and tell me the real scoop!

Glad to see an appreciation thread for sure. It’s about time they get the recognition deserved. Hats off to them for bringing us these awesome figures we all love.

His love of USA flag attires is a little $u$pect 😄 There’s nothing suspect about it. Says they guy who wanted an official GAB ‘90 Sting since I saw it back on July 7 1990. I have made my own with every figure line since the Galoob WCW line. That GAB Sting was absolutely the correct first Surfer Sting to make.

I'm sure they both have baby fresh breath
They do draw a gross amount of disrespect because they are the faces known to the community. But no doubt they and their teams work as hard as possible to give us the most for our buck, while also answering to their numerous corporate overlords.

Anyway, I think Bill and Steve are great. Does that mean every Mattel product is outstanding? No. Should issues be discussed? Yes. But it boggles my mind that there are people who question their passion for their work, or even their ability, given that no one on these boards truly knows what constraints they're actually under.

Steve is the only one I like... He's great... Listen to fans... And tries to cover up the past mistakes of his team to improve the line.

Not 100 true. Mattel has had legends under contract and didn't have the time, room or desire to make them as well. The other items are obvious .. either WWE doesn't want them, the stores, or the wrestlers want more money or don't want it ... the question is who is stopping this the most? That is what I would love to find out off the record with some beers.

I'll be honest, I don't follow the WWE HOF induction list that closely, how many HOFers that we know were under a Legends deal have we not gotten figures off? As for people who don't have Legends deals, I agree in the sense that I'd love to know some specific stories behind those who refuse to sign them vs those WWE refuses to sign, but overall I doubt one is much more dominant than the other.

Bill and Steve seem like great guys, but they’re human and not immune from making mistakes. That said, they don’t deserve the kind of abuse they get from some people here. Yes we can get frustrated, but there’s a fine line between frustrated and just plain out of order.
Hopefully they continue to interact with us for the foreseeable!

The confusion people have is seeing a HOF induction or seeing other types of merch (Topps cards, video games) and thinking its a legends deal. Topps & 2K can and have gone out and signed their own talent. Mattel refuses to. They've also said multiple times that HOF inductions dont mean a legends deal.

Just curious as to how and why ... and as we discussed on here some are from the WWE, some are from the legends perhaps, some are from Mattel's timelines, some are perhaps not the demand by the retailers ... but just like wrestling has some scripted moves and some heated real throw me down stuff ... the intrigue is what is really real? What is happening and will we ever see Harley Race again or Bruiser Brody? Stan Hansen? Kevin Sullivan etc ... Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff, The Rock & roll Express, Ronnie Garvin, Great Muta, Hercules, Jessie the Body, Tony Atlas etc ... Does Japan have access to these figures and if not wouldn't they eat it up as well as other countries? If we know we will NEVER get them ... I would prefer to know so I quit asking and wasting everyone's time.

If they're Bert and Ernie, Bill is obviously Bert.

WWE Elite are my favorite collection. So I give it up to Steve and Bill for the dedication they put into this line.
...even if we haven't received a blue chair as an accessory.

I don’t think I’ve ever even seen anyone once criticise Steve?! I’m not sure anyone would ever have reason to?

They do what the can, and the put out what they can. No harm in that.
Steve is great, and bill too, my only critique would be for completely unbiased on selection of attires being made for certain stars.
And the ability to buy EVERYTHING (including all exclusives, except online only stores for obvious reasons) from Mattels online store.

It’s kind of a “What have you done for me lately?” type thing
Which, they’ve done a lot for me. I appreciate them.

I don’t think I’ve ever even seen anyone once criticise Steve?! I’m not sure anyone would ever have reason to? I think the people who misunderstood his IG post about Slaughter had a few choice words. Otherwise I think he's been pretty much universally praised because he fixed the problem I and so many others had with the line for the longest time: Transparency.
