Coles contract is up this month.
Cole had been rumored to have his contract expire in 2024, but Wrestling Inc. has learned that it is expiring this month after SummerSlam. Cole’s contract was actually up after the Great American Bash, but he extended it.

If he does leave will we still get his elite 92 figures or will they be cancelled?

If the question is if WWE should keep Adam Cole -- absolutely.
If the question is if Adam Cole should stay with the WWE -- probably not.
From my vantage point, I don't think he is getting treated with respect where he is now. I think NXT peaked in 2019 and I think he was right along with it. Since then, he has been floating around with no real direction or issue on TV. The UE breaking up should have been the storyline of the year. Instead, it only got buzz for two or three days online and was dropped pretty quickly on TV. Not to mention, Cole is a performer that has been main roster ready for years. The least WWE can do is pay him what he's worth regardless of being in NXT, or just move him up into an important program. He's a small guy but I think that simply cannot be an excuse for failing WWE talent anymore. Fans do not care about the size of a performer anymore.
If I was any NXT talent that has been with the program for over two years, I'd be fearful of what's next for me. People are built for years to be deemed a valuable player and then given up to the main roster just to fail. These failures are not the talent's fault. I would hate to see it but I could definitely see Cole going to RAW or SmackDown with a hot issue for a few months, just to be lost in the shuffle. He deserves so much more than that.
His other option is of course AEW. He can be with a lot of lifelong friends, make great money, work a light schedule like he is now, work independent shots and NJPW, be with his girlfriend, and have a lot of momentum behind him. Not to argue WWE versus AEW, but the creative direction that AEW takes is light years above WWE's current product. I could never imagine Cole going there and becoming just another dude. Especially with people like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson rumored to come in, AEW is about to skyrocket once again if these come true.
I think the best move for Cole right now would be to look for another opportunity. WWE would be idiots to let this guy go but it would not surprise me in the slightest.

I said NXT, since it's better for Cole to be the big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond.

The best thing for him to do is leave.

Cole has nothing else left to accomplish in NXT and of course Adam is smart enough to realize the main roster isn’t a good option. Why wouldn’t Adam join his girlfriend and best friends in the best wrestling company in the world right now.

I feel like Cole is in a weird position where honestly I don't know if any of those situations would be good for him at the moment.
If he stays in NXT what is there left to do? He's feuded with everyone, been longest reigning NXT Champ, won every title, what's left to do?
If he goes to the main roster he's likely to be completely misused and under appreciated, whether it be his size or style. WWE wouldn't know what to do with him.
If he goes to AEW, it makes sense his girl is there, but now AEW is getting to the point where they almost have too much talent and he's going to get the random push here or there (especially at first) but he won't get ahead of guys like Bryan, Punk, Omega, Page, Mox, etc...
On a side note I shouldn't be surprised, but wtf is WWE doing letting all these talented guys go? I have no desire to continue watching Goldberg wrestle twice a year into his 70s.

His run in NXT has been awesome. So fun to get the UE guys altogether and that run they made. BUT... Hangman Page wins the title from Kenny and eventually gets interrupted by a dead guy? That's un- ing-believable television:

Who would have ever thought at the start of the year that by August 1st Bryan, Strowman, and Wyatt would all be gone from the company, with Cole possibly joining them within the next few weeks. Regardless of whether you’re a fan or not, those are tops names during a time when the WWE’s roster is pretty weak.
Should the WWE keep Cole? Yeah, he’s a popular name and great performer.
Should Cole stay with the WWE? No. With his size Vince likely won’t see any value in him as a top guy on the main roster given his track record with NXT stars. And unless he’s cool staying in NXT, Cole should looked to greener pastures.
That doesn’t automatically mean AEW, though his GF and friends are there. AEW is getting pretty big and three hours is gonna be tough to fit everyone in. Possibly a stint in IMPACT, a return to ROH, or even NJPW would serve him better in the short-term. But even if it is AEW, they’ll likely find a way to fit him in no problem.

I can't name a single NXT star that moved up to WWE and truly progressed in the last 3-4 years other than Drew. Adam Cole will be mid level at best and I just don't want to see that. Let him leave. There are plenty of opportunities for him outside of the system.

I really hope he sticks two fingers up at it, tells em where to go in the most brutal and impactful fashion.
It’s sad because I just don’t know why anyone would wanna stay.
It’s not like they’re going to give him a live mic on raw to drop a pipe bomb except that’s the thing that could give him some heat for two weeks, when they cool it off again. There’s just nothing to strive or even fight for there anymore, just a regret for not being around 9-10+ years ago when they were handing turtlenecks out.

Cole in NXT is one of the best booked people in the company within the last couple of years. The guy has expressed he loves being in NXT and doesn’t really want to go to the main roster. I mean I’d understand with Britt and his friends in AEW if he went there but I’d also understand if he stayed. I have to imagine as one of Hunter’s guys that he will get more money to stay.

I thought his faction could have worked on WWE. It has Monday Night RAW written all over it.

AEW has enough people and if they just keep bringing in WWE guys, the talent who have been there since the beginning are going to begin to sour as they’ll continue to be lowered on the totem pole

I’d go with no. He’s done everything he can do in NXT, and his character hasn’t changed much the whole time. And he’s not cut out for the main shows. Him leaving would open up a nice spot on NXT for a developmental guy.

I really don’t think they know what they r talking about and he’s really signed until 2024. Just rumors to get started, plus y would Mattel start having plans and show stuff if a contract is about to expire? Makes 0 sense honestly
