seems like all the vets in the business - in interviews, podcasts, whatever - love hating on the invasion. the main reason is because of all the guys under contract with time warner, but negative reactions to booker/bagwell for the wcw title in tacoma are also commonly talked about. i personally loved the angle though,i guess being young at the time is part of why. that whole storyline was tremendous to me,and i really have no complaints. any programs from throughout history that you enjoy a lot,but have noticed receive lots of flack from folks in the business?

Vince being revealed as the higher power is one I enjoy that often gets panned.

The Invasion thing is tough for me.
I was 20 years old in 2001 when the Invasion angle happened. And honestly, at that time frame, it seemed very cool. We may have not had Nash, Hogan, Jarrett, Luger, Sting, Steiner in the WWF at the time, but we were seeing matches I never thought we'd ever see.
Kidman vs. X-Pac, Storm & Awesome vs. Edge & Christian, Booker T vs. The Undertaker, etc.
So it was neat to see.
But looking back now, 20 years ago.... how much cooler would it have been if the AOL Time Warner contract guys like Hogan, Nash, etc. had been in the WWF at the time doing the angle.

I always say the Invasion was great tv. In the end, nothing truly amazing happened, but week to week, the possibilities were endless. I was watching, plus RVD in the WWF was worth the price of admission.
I loved the hell out of the WWF nWo. The branding was legendary, Toys R Us had all those nWo R3 figs, WrestleMania X8 was all nWo themed. I loved the gamecube game…I loved that era. It was only 4 weeks with the og members, but the licensing made it last for what seemed like forever.

I thought the buildup to DDP & Jay Leno vs Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff at Road Wild 1998 was well done. I never watched late night talk shows before but a few months afterward, I started tuning into the Tonight Show and watched it regularly until 2007.
