RIP to one of the most underrated workers of all time. Truly ahead of his time.
Peak-diva Goldberg wanted him to take the streak; think about how much he had to have been loved and respected for someone to want that.

Awwww .....damn. I was and still am such a mark for the Midnight Express. Then when Bobby stuck around WCW as a single, I was huge on that TV Title run. Him and AA were absolutely brilliant. But somehow , with all his underrated accolades, I feel like he's going to be just as remembered for being one of a very select few TRULY nice individuals ever in the business. I know he just lost his wife a month or so back. Obviously you gotta wonder if that lead to any health issues or sped any up. This one was quite sad to learn of. R.I.P Beautiful Bobby. Perhaps the most apt nickname given for a genuinely nice guy.

Oh man:( As you guys know I’m a big fan of JC and the Midnights. When I read on Facebook this morning that Bobby died I was so sad. Not only was he a great wrestler, but by all accounts one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. I’ve met him. He would buy homeless people meals! Not that it matters but if JC and the midnights ever get inducted into the wwe hof(why bother now) he won’t be there to enjoy it:( Midnight Express is one of my favorite teams of all time!
RIP Beautiful Bobby Eaton

I never met him but every story I heard was a positive one which is probably pretty rare in wrestling. No matter how big the star, everyone really liked Bobby and more people need to aspire to be like him.
It's not uncommon for elderly couples to pass shortly after each other. It happened with two of my own family members BUT Bobby and his wife were decades younger than most married couples who pass shortly together. But I'm guessing their bond was so strong that his wife's passing probably did speed things up a bit.

I met him back in 2015 and he was very quiet but nice. He signed like 5 promo items that were on his table and gave them to me without even me asking. I thought that was super nice.
probably the most underrated wrestler of all time.

Bobby Eaton is one of the few wrestlers in the business that you can say made an impact everywhere he went.
In Mid South Wrestling, when he and Condrey destroyed the Fantastics with chair shots, bloodying them badly that it shocked the fans that day.
In the NWA when Bobby and Stan Lane held the NWA US Tag Titles and the NWA Tag Titles at the same time in 1988.
In WCW seeing Bobby Eaton finally win a singles title in that promotion, when he had that classic match with Arn Anderson. Hell, all the matches he had with Arn Anderson on World Wide and Saturday Night were awesome in 1991.
When Bobby turned heel on Sting and was secretly working with Paul E. Dangerously to build the Dangerous Alliance.
When Bobby turned up in ECW in 1994 as one of Sabu's masked men to take out Terry Funk and then had the big tag match at When Worlds Collide as Bobby Eaton and Sabu vs. Terry Funk and Arn Anderson happened.
Just so much good stuff from Bobby Eaton. He may have not had the gift of gab on the microphone, but his in ring ability made up for it so much!
R.I.P. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton.

In 1986 the WWF wanted Dennis, Bobby and Cornette though. Bobby said so in a shoot interview. I forget if they actually went and met with Vince or just talked over the phone, but the Midnight Express chose to stay with Crockett then and not go to the WWF.
I also think Bobby worked for the WWF after 2001. I believe in the shoot he said he was helping train wrestlers then for the WWF in Ohio Valley Wrestling maybe it was...?? I forget now, I haven't seen that shoot interview in like 10 years or if not longer.

Yeah they met with Vince who merely told them they’d get an “opportunity”. That wasn’t good enough for them. Rightfully so

I have a "wall of fame" in my house of 8x10s from wrestlers I've met.....a few years ago I had thr chance to meet Bobby, Dennis & Cornette. While at the convention I found out that Stan would be joining them at another convention the next month so I got a Corny auto and just briefly said hi to Bobby.
Fast forward to the next convention Cornette threw a fit cause he went to the wrong hotel and didn't have a room so he no showed and told Stan not to come. Bobby & Dennis were there but I chose not to get their auto as I wanted all 4 (or at least Bobby, Stan and Jimmy)
The opportunity never came about again.
The missing Bobby auto will be a hole in my collection just as the Harley Race who passed after heading to a convention i was attending only to be admitted to the hospital.
