The abs articulation on UE & the butterfly shoulders is a big reason why I won’t buy them. I'm not a fan of the ab articulation but man the new butterfly shoulders are ugly af and completely ruin the aesthetic of the figure. I agree with the aesthetic looking weird.

Elites compared to AEW is close but AEW definitely has the better toyetic design and execution BUT, AEW figures have some serious QC issues. From Looseasaurus to breaking elbows. While the torso/lower body snap ability is cool, it is very flimsy.
They are pretty equal in terms of balance from QC to design.

I always thought the Ultimate Edition torso had fat guy type of pecs and never understood why they felt it was necessary. It actually takes the attention away from their chest. It at some examples make the featured wrestler bigger than they should look, Jeff Hardy's Ultimate Edition for example. It shows that some people are not impressed by the final product because it is readily available on the Amazon UK site, where as with The Rock Amazon exclusive it was never available.?? The Rock was available for pre-order (from Amazon) for months... I do agree that Jeff looks too big/bulky though. I still can’t understand why so many ppl act like the rock UE was difficult to get.. like you said, it was available for months so you could have ordered as many as you wanted.

I think a lot of Mattel WWE Elites have suffered with malnutrition for years. So many figures have torsos, waists and legs far too skinny (Taker, Kane, Bret, Mr Perfect just off the top of my head) so when they come to introduce the UEs the existing parts have been too small in some cases. The new Undertaker is just silly but the coat covers it up.

I don't really have a preference. I keep my AEW figures on a separate shelf, but I've got every Ultimate figure that I own mixed in with my Elites, and unless I'm looking for it, the difference isn't that jarring at all.

so, looks like i may be in the minority here, but i am not a fan of the look of the Ultimate Edition/ AEW "floating" torso. i like the standard line ab crunch articulation better just because the figures look more realistic and somewhat natural. the articulation kindof blends into the physique of the figure, but with the UE/AEW "floating" upper torso, you get this big unnatural line that goes across the entire upper body of the figure and ive seen few that translate well.
anyone else remember the finishing moves line?! we've had this articulation available for years, but i just dont know how popular it has actually been.

Hi all. I wanted to bring up an interesting topic that personally intrigues me what others here think. We all know the WWE Elites standart form, with this abs crunch/articulation: When the Ultimate Edition's and the AEW figures came out, we've got a new form like this: Now, I mean, the overall of the figuers is amazing. From the head scan, to the body, all the joints, attire, tattoos and more. But.. for me personally, I really can not manage with this form of abs articulation, and it is even bothers me so much to the point that I do not buy UE/AEW figures only because of this reason. Again, the figures are really amazing, but I just do not like that type of articulation. There may be a few more here who think like me and there may be no one here who thinks that way or agrees with me, but I just wanted to see the opinions of others. I hope that one day we could get AEW figures with the same abs crunch and the same form like the WWE elites. The great thing about Jazzwares is the insanely easy ability to customize these figures.

What is the difference between AEW Unrivaled and AEW Unmatched? The name. Same style, same price point. It's just a way to get another SKU at retail and expand their footprint. Also, apparently the characters in each line. I believe I heard that Unmatched will go deeper into the lower and mid card, while Unrivaled will focus more on the main event level people

I like the elite ab crunch piece better, but I like the waist joint on aew better. If you could combine the two that would give the best range of motion for posing. Overall I prefer the aew ones in terms of abs because of the way the waist can move, but if they both had the same waists then the elite abs are better.

I think the popularity depends on execution. The Ultimate figures are a good example. I was not a fan of the early Ultimates. I thought the torsos looked straight up weird. Kinda like mushrooms. They’ve refined them enough now where they look pretty good. Companies like Mezco, Storm, Figuarts, MAFEX, etc have been using this style of articulation to great success. Hasbro typically sticks to the standard ab crunch, also to great success. It really all comes down to how well a company executes it. Both styles work fine in my opinion. It’s just on the design team to made the sculpt work.

I would absolutely LOVE if UE’s had unrivaled articulation cause if they did it would be 100% worth the price for every figure.

Butterfly joints are a godsend. They are provided for function and not necessarily for looks.
You can pull off a lot more moves and poses with them.
GLAD they finally added them.
Some of you balking at the butterfly joints, have a collection of jakks deluxe garbage. Amazes the hell out of me.

I personally prefer the UE/AEW articulation over the Elite style, though TBH I’m fine with either of them.

Could anyone post pictures of what movements you can do with pinless shoulders that you couldn't do with the others?
And what movements do the abs on the AEW and Ultimate figures allow that you couldn't do with the Elite molds?

I can go either way with my figures, as long as the end result looks the best. I only use my figures for display so articulation isn't a big deal for me. As long as the final product looks good on my shelf, and will stay upright on my shelf, he could be a statue for all I care.
Actually, I have a couple of those Eaglemoss Statuettes. They're pretty cool. Sad to see that line go.
All that said, I don't like the rubbery-texture on the AEW figure torsos, primarily because I don't trust it. There's too much history with that type of material going sour, I don't like that they are using it on the AEW line. Stick with the hard plastic. There's evidence that the S1 figures are already starting to color-shift. Horrible parts choice and one of the reasons I'm getting out of the AEW line (outside of the women).

I much prefer elites and ab crunch over ab swivel.
