Hi all. I wanted to bring up an interesting topic that personally intrigues me what others here think. We all know the WWE Elites standart form, with this abs crunch/articulation: When the Ultimate Edition's and the AEW figures came out, we've got a new form like this: Now, I mean, the overall of the figuers is amazing. From the head scan, to the body, all the joints, attire, tattoos and more. But.. for me personally, I really can not manage with this form of abs articulation, and it is even bothers me so much to the point that I do not buy UE/AEW figures only because of this reason. Again, the figures are really amazing, but I just do not like that type of articulation. There may be a few more here who think like me and there may be no one here who thinks that way or agrees with me, but I just wanted to see the opinions of others. I hope that one day we could get AEW figures with the same abs crunch and the same form like the WWE elites.

Consider yourself lucky they are all in scale. Jazwares could've went with a different scale for their Unrivaled line but didn't.

Jazwares does it much better than Mattel does.

I didn't say anything bad about them, the figures are really great, just wanted to know if others here do not like specifically only the abs articulation issue.

I personally like the Jazzwares figure style a lot more than elites. Not to go off topic but especially considering Mattel's lack of quality control/correct parts as of late, I have become a much bigger fan of AEW figures. I think Jazzwares sort of makes these figures for adult collectors while Mattel is still doing a lot of marketing towards children. That just means AEW is giving more eye to detail, correct parts, etc. There are a handful of things AEW has done that were big misses (W5 Moxley scan, W2 Hangman clown shoes, W2 Dustin having Andre height) but overall, I prefer them over Mattel figures these days.
One reason is because of the torsos. I understand the similarity between UE torsos and Jazzwares torsos but I don't think they are identical at all. AEW figures crunch and move very well while the UE figures still show a lot of restraint. UE's also look clunky a lot of the time. I especially see a problem with UE Triple H, Warrior, Shinsuke and HBK. They just don't look good on those figures. But AEW does a great job making the torsos look realistic and and life-like while still giving us the great articulation.

iโm glad mattel is starting to use the double jointed elbows for upcoming elites. thatโs one big feature i like the most that jazwares did from their start/mattel starting to include.

Jazwares does it much better than Mattel does. i like the aew figures but you try to make luchasaurus bend over and he snaps in half. at least mattel figures don't snap in half

I havenโt bought any Jazware figures yet. I will say that most of the ultimate edition torso do look terrible though. I feel like some of the new ones have been okay. I think they did a great job with Hoganโs, but then when you look at Shawnโs and Triple Hโs torso it just looks odd. Iโve said it many times what needs to be fixed is the wideness of the abs. Most of the time the upper section has a big gap. I think storm collectibles is a great example of a company that executes it well. Now as far as Jazware figures, I think their torsos look okay. What bugs me is the crotch pieces. Those things just look like they have a wedgie.

Yeah those waists on the male Ultimates have bothered me from the start. Such an unseemly transition that Jazwares did much better aesthetically. The hinge joint was never that big a deal to me, heck I would still gladly get solid pieces for certain guys if Basics were worth it.
But what do I know, I'm just a mark.

I like the AEW figures and the way Jazwares does the ab joints. I don't like the way Mattel does the WWE UE figure joints, though. Jazwares has been better at that.

I always thought the Ultimate Edition torso had fat guy type of pecs and never understood why they felt it was necessary. It actually takes the attention away from their chest. It at some examples make the featured wrestler bigger than they should look, Jeff Hardy's Ultimate Edition for example. It shows that some people are not impressed by the final product because it is readily available on the Amazon UK site, where as with The Rock Amazon exclusive it was never available.

The abs articulation on UE & the butterfly shoulders is a big reason why I wonโt buy them.

The Rock was available for pre-order (from Amazon) for months... I do agree that Jeff looks too big/bulky though.

Idk if anyone has pointed it out but it seems like the new Diesel and Doink have more seamless torsos. Hopefully that is something that continues with future releases but the torso on the UE Taker looked pretty bulky.

So far Mattel's Ultimate editions look bad compared to what Jazzware makes for the AEW line.
I prefer Elite's from Mattel and Unrivaled style from Jazzware's.

these style of torsos are pretty normal when it comes to more of a premium figure (storm collectibles, mafex, mezco, etc.). only thing i hate about mattelโs way of doing this is that you donโt get any range of motion. even if you did get a range of motion, itโs very minimal

What is the difference between AEW Unrivaled and AEW Unmatched?

What is the difference between AEW Unrivaled and AEW Unmatched? The name. Same style, same price point. It's just a way to get another SKU at retail and expand their footprint.

The abs articulation on UE & the butterfly shoulders is a big reason why I wonโt buy them. I'm not a fan of the ab articulation but man the new butterfly shoulders are ugly af and completely ruin the aesthetic of the figure.
