I mean ... Mattel only wants to make money. Not making a figure because they were just released makes zero sense. Getting released isn't a bad thing (unless the wrestler did something awful). They signed him to a merchandise deal and will take advantage of it even if he's no longer there.

Mattel doesn't sign the merchandise deals, WWE does.

Quick, take the North American championship off him unceremoniously, we want him on Smackdown! Nah, that actually, have the guy not under contract beat him then just release him... 🤯

This guy is money!
Reminds me alot of Bam Bam Bigelow when they dropped the ball with him in WCW too.
I'm sure he'll be fine out there but sucks that WWE are making these cuts again for the performers.

Seriously So much for his elite It will still be made. See: Braun and Vega. Major difference is main roster is under a 90 day no compete while NXT is 30 days. They are still under contract/getting paid during this time. I think the 90 days has helped save a lot of figures in the past. I think his elite is too far out unless the contracts have some type of verbiage regarding this scenario and a timeframe/$$$ for releasing merchandise after the release.

Much the Sting situation, once the contract expires, they're off limits. I'm sure there's some language on what exactly that drop dead date is - final molds being struck, figures produced, figures shipped, etc. - in the contract Mattel and WWE have. E89 is currently scheduled for early October, so E90 would probably be scheduled for mid Nov? I guess it's possible within the 30 days, but it doesn't seem super likely.

If he’s slated for late December, there’s a pretty good chance we’ll still get him I think. From what I’ve heard other figure companies say, a simple refresh production run of existing figures has about a 4 month lead time at least. For a brand new figure, they have to start that way further out. They technically could just pull the plug on it, but I feel like they only do that when there’s a lot of issues involved with the wrestler (see Jeff Hardy in 2010)

Meh. I didn't see the appeal of him so to me it was no big loss seeing him get released. Sucks for him and his fans though!

It couldve been worse. He couldve been given a dancing dinosaur gimmick on the main roster.
