Normally I'm in the camp saying that comedy and wrestling shouldn't mix, sure i'm okay with segments but when it comes to comedy wrestlers like Otis and Santino I always tune out, I thought Orange would be in the same boat but throughout the last year when I really started watching he has earned my respect for blending a form of comedy into wrestling, I always love his hand in pockets kick ups or his hand in pockets dives, I almost popped hard seeing him almost pin Omega for the champion and I realized that I wouldn't mind him being champion, he is one of the 3 I hope beat Miro for the TNT championship with the other two being Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy, he has taken something I really began to despise in wrestling and made it feel fresh and like his own.

I think comedy wrestlers in other promotions have been booked to be seen at a certain level. In which they will never reach beyond no matter what & if anything will move further down the ladder. With Orange he is valued highly & is one of the key players. There is no ceiling for him like there is for the others comedy guys you have mentioned.
The fans are rewarded for getting behind him, so therefore they continue to support him. Other fans see this & choose to cheer for him too. Even fans who did not like his persona at first are won over.

I absolutely hated his matches pre-AEW, but he's one of the best go to guys on the roster. He's super over with the crowd and he uses his laid back persona to agitate/get the edge on his opponent. Plus, his entrance song is by Pixies. Hard to hate the guy right now.

I used to hate him but now I like him. The ability to do so little and to be so over while proving to naysayers that he could actually work earns my respect.

He's the smartest wrestler in the business today. There is nothing stopping him from doing the slow style of match at age 50 with hardly any bump cards taken for him. Others will be beat up and battered at age 50, while Orange is still pretty much putting on the same style of match he did for the past 25 years.
