I had a lot of fun at Wizard World Chicago this past weekend and got a ton of new figures. On the way to Chicago, my friends and I stopped at every TRU on 94. The only good find was in Kalamazoo when we found Marvel Legends 6. My friend picked up Cable, Movie Punisher, and Juggarnaut. I only got Cable as he was the only fig available that I wanted. As it would turn out, ML6 would be the hot commodity at Wizard World. L:ater that Thursday, we stopped at the Golf Mill, IL TRU and found AVP figures. I picked up a Celtic Predator.
Now, onto the con: First thing I picked up was the other ML6 figure I was jonesing for... Deadpool, for $25. That turned out to be the lowest you could find him at the con. Deadpool is an incredibly cool figure. He has 2 interchangable heads and lots of weapons that can be stored on his backpack! I picked up the Springwood Slasher Freddy and Crazy 88 Tarantino. I also got Super Powers Parademon and Mantis for $5 each, a steal if you consider how much they go for on eBay. I got Hush Poison Ivy for $7.
On the second day I bought the Sinister 6 box set for $50 and became the envy of a ton of conventioners. That box set kicks ass, by the way! The best figures are Venom, Green Goblin, and Electro. And I didn't pay that much more than if I got it at TRU. I also got a free translucent Shining Gundam at the Wizard Wheel of Doom table (you spin the wheel and get a prize).
On the third day, I got Hulk Classics Absorbing Man plus $40 in a trade for a Marvel Legends 3 Maskless Wolverine with Magneto error. That Absorbing Man is SOOOO cool. He has a wrecking ball with plastic chain and three interchangable left arms (Hulk arm, steel arm, and weird claw (adamantium?) arm). I opened the figure because the card had creases, plus I wanted to open the damn thing anyway! I would never sell it.
On the way home, we stopped at the Battle Creek TRU and found a TON of their WWE figures on clearance. I picked up Bring the Noice Tommy Dreamer for $4.50 and Brock Lesnar in sweatpants and beater for $4.00.
All in all, a kick ass weekend.
