Anyone else hate scaffold matches?? I do.
They are the most boring style of match that was ever created. And on top of that, there is a good chance one or two guys are gonna take a serious fall and get hurt from that said fall.
Every time I encounter a scaffold match on an old NWA or WCW PPV or show, I fast forward it. No need to watch it at all, no matter who is competing in said match.
But seriously, what was the point of them?? They weren't matches. Someone usually blew out a knee, or broke a wrist when taking the fall to the ring. Just so pointless!

And nobody took a fall in that one! Which is still safer than taking a fall, but still.... what's the point?!?! Crawl across and get the flag, and you win. You take Bobby Eaton and Steve Austin and put them in that match, instead of giving them a one on one rematch for the TV Title?!?! Ugh!!

I remember being excited for the road warriors/midnights one, but then saw it and was like this sucks. and yes WAAAY to dangerous.
one good thing came out of scaffold matches, powers of pain refused to do them and left for wwf instead.

Smart choice on Warlord and Barbarian. I can't imagine either one of those giant men falling to the ring from that high off the ground.

WCW/JCP did this a lot with their gimmick matches. They made things up that probably sounded cool at the time but the execution was terrible. I think they wanted something really dangerous looking to get word of mouth going, but once people saw it it didn't excite anyone.

Yeah they were so dangerous. I still get nervous watching them even though I know how they ended. lol remember the first one they didn’t even tighten the screws that held the safety rail on the top. Hawk grabbed the bar and it fell off. That could have turned out much worse.
