I notice Elias matches some of the recent big releases in that he was in store for a big push at one time (maybe even was fully being pushed; he's worked all the big names, took a tombstone from 'Taker the night after WM, etc.), but he's slowly moving further and further down. The man has charisma and can work. Would you see Elias as someone AEW would be interested in hiring if the E lets him go? What would you see him doing on their roster if so?

I don't think he would be a great fit. He has a fantastic physique and strong character work, but his in ring work is extremely bland. Given the importance of being able to go bell to bell in aew, I don't see it working out. After a couple years in the indies or impact or something learning how to actually wrestle, then I could see him coming back and making a huge impact, similar to how drew did in WWE. Without that I think he's flopping like Cardona did in aew, for essentially the exact same reason.

Dude, Black was released literally a few days after he debuted his new gimmick. I wouldn't rule it out. |

I dunno Can the guy wrestle? Not yet, but to be honest I think he could. He's had a few moments I've seen in WWE where it's like "hey, he could put on a good match", just hampered with the typical WWE style wrestling which is how he was trained and all he knows. He has a great physique though and has shown a few flashes that suggest with some time learning how to wrestle a style more fitting of aew, there could be something there. |

Can't recall him ever having a good match so he just does not qualify by that metric. He would have to go to Impact first to get that WWE stink off him.

I think he’s really good and wouldn’t hate the idea but he seems like more of an impact signing to me

He would do great in IMPACT or the NWA I think. Have time to develop his character and wrestle some higher profile matches and find out who he is and can be.

Honestly, NWA should pick him up and make him one of their top stars if he ever leaves WWE. Feels like a perfect fit for them.
