How would people envision an Ultimate DB? What accessories should he have come with? 2-3 heads, a pair of pointing hands for his „yes“-chant and what else? The Yes shirt, two heads, two belts and some extra hands. So pretty much the same amount of stuff as UE modern Rock or Jefff Hardy.

as long as HBK is there, the UE line will be okay.

I feel like they could have done something with this to make it work. A WMXXX DBry could have been brilliant with both belts and multiple heads.
Not every figure needs to be super fancy. They could have made that figure work and I would have gladly bought it as my 'One And Only' Daniel Bryan figure.
That said, it isn't the end of the world. We've had several really good Bryan figures over the years and while a UE would have been nice I don't think it's a big deal that we didn't get one.

I definitely would’ve bought one, but I get why they didn’t.
I mean, Roman is their top guy and he doesn’t even have one. I was sure his first golden gauntlet figure would’ve been an Ultimate, but it seems like the line has (mostly) moved away from current folks as of late.

I mean, I get it. UE figures are for adult collectors and the adult collectors want legends.
But I can't help but think that it smacks yet again of the WWE not giving a crap about the future and living in the past. I mean, there's a hell of a debate to be had about WWE pushing the old stars rather than making new ones, and it's better suited on other parts of this forum, but yeah. I can't help but think that for the supposed top-tier line of the WWE/Mattel brand, they've all but given up on the current roster.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m surprised we’re starting to get Legend midcarders over folks like Mysterio, AJ, Rollins, Roman, Orton, etc. but I guess that’s also reflective of the product. I’m sure we’ll see more current stars eventually, but I hope it goes back to more of a balance.

The great thing about Bryan is that since his gear was similar, you could have maybe done a few different versions across a few years in one figure

...what current stars (say, 2010 onwards) are big enough for the UE treatment though? There's only really Roman, Rollins and AJ... maybe a couple of others. But it's a pretty short list. Plus - look at the last few Roman Reigns Elites... they're all pretty stacked: 2 heads, 3 pairs of hands, cloth shirt or title belt... would kids (or parents) pay an extra $10+ for an UE?

The WWE doesn't make stars anymore, they recycle them. With a product that's (from what we know) scripted and planned to the exact word and detail, there's nothing organic to produce true superstars from. The only way that Roman became a hit is that, according to him, they stopped scripting him and let him do his own thing. AJ was a top guy for over a decade before WWE got their hands on him. Rollins is probably one of the few guys who WWE has made a huge star and I think a big part of that is that he's taken what they give him and turned it all up to 11, making him into a star despite being scripted to death. And the biggest women's star they've had in ages, Becky, only came to stardom through accident. (Which the WWE then ran with to the absolute limit and now she's a heel.)
The point I'm making is that the WWE doesn't make stars anymore... because they can't. All the people that have become players big enough for the UE treatment did so through means out of the WWE's control. The WWE doesn't work in the music industry, you can't manufacture a hit. That stuff has to be organic and come from the heart. And time and time again the WWE has shown that it will fumble the ball on the people that DO have "it". Bayley, IMHO, could easily have become the long-term face of the women's division after Becks left, but the WWE booked her so dang weak that her killer mic skills could only compensate to make her average. I never knew you could hold the women's title for that long and have it feel that worthless. How the heck do you book your women's champion to lose every single non-title match she has for 5 months???
I will say that they are getting better... slowly. Having Goldberg lose at Summerslam was something I genuinely did not expect. I was expecting Cena to lose, but it was still a happy thing to see. Seth vs Edge was the match of the night, so I don't care that Seth tapped. The tide is slowly turning to having the legends put the current talent over, and I'm grateful for it. But there's still work that needs done. The fact that we're still talking about a Rock vs Roman match possibly main eventing next years Wrestlemania makes me wonder what the point of all Ro's buildup is if nobody will be able to take him down before he faces "The Great One". And, if Roman does lose his title to Lesner, we will be back to having a part time champion and, again, what's the point. There's still work to do but it's getting better.
Sorry, like I said, this is a topic better suited to other parts of this forum but the point stands that the WWE keeps relying too much on throwback stars rather than cultivating new talent. There are names, as you said, that could have gotten the UE treatment. I'd easily buy a UE AJ Styles or Roman Reigns. Seth probably would have depended on the attire but I would have loved a UE MNM figure. A UE Bayley would have been joyfully welcomed on my shelf. And, as this thread alone states, I really really wish we had gotten a WMXXX DBry UE fig. These are all figures that I would happily have bought. Honestly? Triple H? The Rock? Cena? Short of an act of God they aren't going anywhere. Both UE 10 figure slots would have better suited for someone else. I mean, they're nice figures, but I feel that they weren't necessary to put out again this soon. The Amazon Trips figure is more a case of "The worst one won (again)" but there too, you could have stuck a Seth or AJ figure in there and had at least one fig from that series be current roster.
And, finally, RE: this topic, If series 2 Shinsuke had been Daniel Bryan, the line might not have gotten off to such a rough start.
I didn't mean to write an essay, and I could indeed write much more, but these are some of my thoughts about the issues regarding the WWE's neglect of the current roster stars (plus the Bryan issue).
Sorry again for the long post.

Remember when Dolph Ziggler cashed in the money in the bank briefcase after building up all that momentum from the Showoff gimmick and he blew the roof off the building and he was looking to be a breakout star, but he got injured and then WWE threw cold water on him for so long that it fizzled out? Then he started to build momentum again and was the Sole Survivor of the Survivor Series match against the Authority and they threw more cold water on that? They keep doing the same thing over and over. Anything that builds up buzz, they throw cold water on it with their 50/50 booking and it kills the buzz. Ziggler, Punk, Ryder, Ryback, Wyatt, Barrett. Anything with buzz gets clipped. Then they complain about beach balls. Nobody was throwing beach balls during a Punk match. Your shows are boring. I have to wonder if distribution at Walmart and Target is improving or if nobody’s interested in the figures of current guys like they were 5-10 years ago.

Yes 100% really wanted him. Seems like mattel is just making legends as UE’s i really want a Seth & AJ but i dont think we will ever get that. If they did make a D-Bry UE i hope he’s in the WM34 gear when he lost to kofi. My fav post retirement/comaback bryan gear
