It’s his 2nd time at the top. Very, very hard to argue he isn’t the best wrestler in the last year. The top 10 were:
1) Kenny Omega 2) Roman Reigns 3) Bobby Lashley 4) Drew McIntyre 5) Kota Ibushi 6) Jon Moxley 7) Will Ospreay 8) Finn Balor 9) Shingo Takagi 10) Rich Swann
I guess I get Roman being so high considering he's the only current draw (at least, that's what people are saying), but Lashley and McIntyre being in the top 5 OVER Mox, Ospreay, & (especially) Shingo feels criminal. PWI must really be enjoying modern WWE...
Good for Rich Swann being ranked so high! It's cool to see Balor on the list even though I only saw the matches against O'Reilly.

The only 3 that were ever really in contention in the past year were him, Roman, and Ospreay. I thought with Ospreay winning the IWGP title he would be on his way to taking the crown this year, but then he got hurt and shelved for like half the year. From there it was down to 2, and given some of Roman's opponents compared with Kenny holding 3 different major titles, it became a pretty obvious conclusion.

I mean, I legit thought they'd give it to Roman. Also, Darby not being in the Top 10 feels like a real oversight.

Part of me laughs when I see the 500 but another part of me is glad they keep kayfabe alive after its dead.

All subjective but cool to see Kenny and Jon get credit for their hard work.

I know it don't mean jack, but Mox should totally be in the top 2-3.

Lashley and Drew aren’t top ten. That said, PWI always takes booking into consideration and they both have that strongly in their favor. Will at 2 over Reigns all day on this, though.
Also, I’m not even a fan of the guy and I think Walter belongs comfortably on this top ten. Super weird omission for a guy plenty would call the best wrestler in the world right now.

I know it don't mean jack, but Mox should totally be in the top 2-3. I agree, but they take booking seriously in their rankings, and Mox took some pretty big losses in the second half of the rankings period (two losses to Omega, and ate the pin when him and Eddie challenged for the tag belts). Personally I’d rank the guy top 5 though since we’re looking at July 2020 - June 2021.

there’s certainly a valid argument for Omega, so no issue here.

For once I agree with PWI, Omega by far had a better year than Reigns.

Admittedly I don't follow NXT UK so I dunno what he did over there but I saw three Ilja Dragunov matches this year and two of them were some of the best matches I've seen in 2021 (one of which is already considered an all time classic) and the other was just a really good match against Roderick Strong. So it stands to reason if I were to extrapolate that batting average over the course of a full year ...

Honestly if WALTER wrestled more in the last year, I’d think it would be very hard to argue that he would be the best wrestler of the last year.

I know me being a huge fan might be a big reason why I think this and like said earlier losing to Kross sure didn't help but imo Finn deserved way higher then 8th,the man had incredible matches with everybody he was in the ring with besides Kross.
I definitely think Kenny and Roman was 1 and 2,I don't see how it can be many arguments about that but I would give Kenny the edge. I will say I would thought Darby and WALTER would've been in the top 10 but I think both are gonna have plenty of years to come being in the top 10,so not really a big deal.
