I am the complete opposite of Andre-one of the shortest persons without being a midget so I've always been fascinated by him. I know he got multiple times more funny looks than I did but I spent almost all my childhood dealing with crappy looks and bullying so he's a guy who always interested me based on his size. I don't exactly like how he acted (bullying John Studd, acting like an @$$ to the Rockers, checking guy's oil, crapping wherever he felt like it-because he could) but I understand him being bitter no matter his fame or fortune.
I have family in North Carolina and am trying to get back to see family members I may never see again due to their age. Him living a quiet life there sincerely interests me. I am so glad he got to live there, because he probably was just another person in the town rather than a Giant or a celebrity. If I had the money I would have loved to buy his house because I know it would have brought me a personal peace like it did Andre. I'm glad the town has this small museum space for him, he does deserve it. I wish we would here more about his personal life in Ellerbe but I bet the people who knew him best, outside of Jackie or Frenchie will take what they know to the grave.
I wish Andre the Giant vs. Giant Machine would have taken place. It seems that when Andre returned to the WWF in 1987, the Giant Machine had retired from wrestling. Too bad.... ha ha ha
I could make that match with my figures! I use different gimmicks as separate characters so as to bolster the roster and make it varied enough to potentially make ‘something for everyone’ cards without getting stale.
