Is there a reason why elites aren’t sold there anymore? It’s not the end all be all of retail but I remember being able to pick up stuff there that I couldn’t find at any other store. Weird that AEW figs are now being sold there.

I think eventually they always have to clearance wrestling figures out, and it probably wasn't a good view of WWE Mattel. I remember going into a few stores on a couple of occassions and just seeing a table upfront full of random elites for $5 each. Another problem is just the case breakdown for a smaller store like that. They basically have room for one case of an elite set in their store at a time. When they move as slow as they do, having 1, 2, 3 shelf warmers from a single set can sit there for months.
I have nightmares of seeing that elite Nia Jax and the Fashion Police Tyler Breeze in GameStop for what felt like 2 years.

The 3 or 4 stores within driving distance for me always were stocked with the 2nd Rusev and Aiden English.

Short answer: they didn't move
Still shorter answer but longer than the short answer: GameStop is a terrible store, and also the figures didn't move

They didn’t sell. The figs, including exclusives, always went on clearance for as low as $5.

I’ve seen them selling the AEW figures online, but around here they don’t have those either. I just assume GameStop gets them and they don’t sell, so they stopped selling elites. I also think the failure of the Retrofest line didn’t exactly help either.

I think there's generally a lot of completionists for the AEW line, so it might go better than the Elites did. But people just don't think of GameStop as a place to get their wrestling figures. That's a place where you sell nerd-trendy merch like Fortnite figures and Gundam models. They don't have much space for figures so you want stuff with a broad nerd base that gets a lot of casual sales, lines that don't rely on people wanting a whole wave.

The last time I went to GameStop they barely had anything interesting. I kept browsing and saw some Marvel Legends on sale that I was kind of interested in. Like I wouldn’t have bought them at full price, but on clearance, sure. I went to grab a couple of the figures only to realize there was a lock at the end of the peg. I was supposed to ask an employee to unlock the peg and get me the figures. There was only one person working, and he was at the register with a line. I just figured it wasn’t worth the hassle and I walked out empty handed.
