Because nobody was going to pay $23 for a $20 figure you can get for $17 at Walmart. Unless it was really rare. Their adding action figures and collectibles was part of their plan to stop hemorrhaging money and bring in new customers but it didn’t work because no one wants to go to a store to get pestered about a cell phone plan to buy something you can get cheaper literally anywhere else.

Right -- Gamestop should only be selling figures that aren't easily available elsewhere.
Selling things like WWE Elites was a terrible business strategy.

I hated going in there and Walgreens as well when they had exclusives .. Gamestop's games are way overpriced too lol I would laugh as I looked at games that I I bought for 1/4 or 1/5 of the price on amazon or ebay

I think the last WWE fig I saw in my gamestop was the E61 Fandango figure.
They wanted 25 dollars for him somewhere around August of 2019.
Honestly, at that point I would have bought him except they didn't have the Breeze to match.
Haven't seen one since.

I havent bought any new video games lately, so I cant comment about their prices on that, but they dont buy figures in large bulk quantities like Walmart, Target or Toys R Us did when they were around, so they most likely pay a higher price per unit and end up having to charge more. |

I understand why people would purchase elsewhere, but feel like people don't understand why some places have higher prices..

I cleared out numerous Gamestops when they clearenced their retrofest figures. Did I really need 20 Duggans...not really but I got them all signed anyway 😄

Normally I'm not one for this sort of thing but at that point I feel like you are performing a public service. No, you did not need 20 Duggans but buying 20 Duggans and getting them all signed?

I never saw him wear one. Same with the Mr. Perfect figure. I never saw him wear that design on his singlet. I want a blue singlet with black back or a black singlet with a blue or white back. |

I totally understand why they have higher prices and I’m going to shop at the place with the lower prices. That’s my point. GameStop was where you’d go if you couldn’t find what you’re looking for in the other stores. Meanwhile they have a bunch of figures no one cared about rotting away. |

Exactly -- they only should have ever carried hard to find brands/lines to drive traffic to their stores. Often, they did the opposite

I have a friend that used to managed GameStop, he would update me on sales and WWE Elites/Exclusives was usually on that list.

Savage and Michael's were the ones that seemed to be in short supply. |
