Steve mentioned 45 was a mistake at target but I am seeing it as 45 still months later.
I agree with a lot of people here. Price hikes make me much less inclined to buy a figure I was on the fence about or for customizing. This could easily lead to the end of the line. No contract is forever. Just ask hasbro and jakks.

I don't see a lot of people buying Davey Boy, Tatanka and Luger ultimates for 45 bucks if some of these rumors are true. This increase could possibly kill this line.

New Administration

Oil
Welfare
Above are all the reasons I know that is coming ahead. I heard rumors, just rumors from insiders that say the big increase in almost all goods will happen end of this month. So essentially good began to increase price this summer but look for more of the same this month.
I have heard any where from 20-40% increase. I expect 23-25 dollars coming right around the corner. I imagine Ultimates will cost close to $40 soon. Not only do you have cost of oil/plastic, but taxes on these goods, then you have environmentalists pushing taxes.
Just giving the heads up on what I hear.

Looks like Amazon moved their base price up to $21.99 (from $19.99). Good thing is they still take a few bucks off the slow sellers from time to time.

Did you also hear about them trying to allow the I.R.S to look at anyone's account if they have over $600. Add that to the new online sales rule and that's big trouble. |

i'll tell you this....elites start hitting over $20 on the regular? they are gonna make a LOT less money from me than they used to. $20 is the somewhat ideal price point for the quality we are getting nowadays....even though the quality has decreased....its easy to accept, in this hobby, that price point for a 6 inch "premium" action figure My thoughts exactly. $20 for the quality that Mattel usually puts into their WWE line is already pushing it for me for most releases. I already wait months until the figures I want are $5 off or so on online retailers. I can't even remember the last time I bought a non-AEW figure in stores. I think I got Legends Bam Bam in stores about a month ago, but before that, its been maybe a year or longer. But in all honesty, toys are the last thing I care about when discussing these crazy price increases all across every consumer item. The price of essentials is getting scary. I don't make a ton of money and sit comfortably on the things I need, but I can't imagine people who have major bills, or a family, or just a low wage job. I am glad that my only gripe out of this so far has been toys. |

Yep just noticed this yesterday. Sucks. Definitely not gonna impulse buy as much.. unless Walmart goes back to that 16. But will still pick up what I definitely want.

i truly dont understand how an already struggling country with millions of people unable to even afford BASIC HUMAN NECESSITIES can cry poverty and accept the cost of goods continuing to rise just because "well, inflation economy. thats just the way it is."
