Figured the section could use an official one.
This show is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. It's very typical reality tv show work-shoot stuff. Every bit as cheesy and campy as one would expect.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I expected work-shoot reality tv trash, and that's exactly what I got. I actually mean that as a compliment. They're not trying to hook wrestling fans into reality tv here. They know there's enough of a hardcore fanbase that will watch it just because it has an AEW logo (myself included lol), but they're not trying to convert a million wrestling fans into reality tv fans. They're trying to convince reality tv fans to give wrestling a try, much like Total Bella's/Miz and Mrs (which admittedly I haven't watched either, but I imagine they're similar?). Cody and Brandi are so good at that unaware wannabe babyface shtick (and they know exactly what they're doing there). This was a 45 minute promo about the women's division and the young stars of AEW.

I'm gonna try to give it my full attention this weekend before I can give it a fair judgment. I was distracted with discord and had a few cold ones so I missed a lot. I am here for starkybaby tho.

Something rubbed me the wrong way with it, though I will admittedly still watch it. I cannot put my finger on an exact scenario that caused the feeling, but I left the episode thinking how this painted them in a not so good light. This plus the backstage rumors could easily be some go away heat for sure, and that is unfortunate.
I am still super thankful for what they did/do for the wrestling world for sure.

I was really hoping this wouldn't be Total Rhodes but it is. I won't be watching again I don't think - perhaps if there's nothing else to do and I'm bored. Why can't it just be a documentary style series that follows the genuine backstage activities of the Rhodes family? Why does it have to have scenes and storylines and stuff? I don't give a flying what Brandi and Cody's mums think of their getting a nanny to help with the nights! And I don't care about Jade and Red Velvet's cringe-worthy acting (also, why yank telly producers feel they can't have women on telly unless they're talking about blokes or bitching at each other I will never understand). I hope, as a programme, it brings more eyes to AEW and does its job - but it is NOT a good programme.

I think it's because AEW prides itself on being the alternative to WWE but this was just a copy and paste of Total Divas. Also, the overt sexism made me feel like I'd traveled back in time.
