This thread proves that standards are extremely low in this hobby. No wonder we get the repetitive crap we get. ANOTHER Austin and ANOTHER Styles, and Bret in his most redundant, forgettable attire? People are trying to make chicken crap into chicken salad here. How about we let people enjoy things?
This AJ will happily be my first and probably my last. Especially seeing as how it's a figure from the only match of his I've really enjoyed.
We went an annoying length of time with ZERO easily accessibly wrestling attired Stone Cold figures, there's nothing wrong with them now playing catch up.
I honestly don't believe the WM26 Bret thing is a guarantee. We've had plenty of other examples of photos not matching the figures so I will reserve judgement for when I see WM26 Bret. Besides, for my personal mileage, WM26 is probably one of my favorite Bret moments. Yes, it was brutal and awful to watch but I really treasure the element of Karma involved and would happily pay to see part 2 of "Vinny Mac vs The Entire Hart Family".
To be honest, if I had to write of "Which is the worst figure in this set for me" I'd say the BAF. I refuse to buy another Vince figure with a botched troll head. Also, there's a good chance he will be insanely tall like the last one. I want McMahon figures yes. But I want them done well and I have a hunch this one won't even fit into the category of "Decent".
AFA confirmed it’s WM26, FYI 👍🏻

If the promo pic of WM26 is what we actually get, at least it's finally a chaps HBK.
Hoping it's a case of it being something different, and we FINALLY get WrestleMania 23. I'll forever be asking for an Elite WrestleMania 23 HBK until it happens!
EDIT: Seems like people are finally experiencing our HBK/chaps pain with this potential WM26 Bret.

This is gonna sound awful, but with these all being confirmed, I may just pick up this full wave if I can get it. Shawn is a needed addition, Bret is a guilty pleasure fig, AJ is a major want, and at that point I might as well grab the Stone Cold for the BAF. Don't need another Stone Cold but parts are always welcome. Might as well grab the BAF Vince, I can put him in a drawer with the hopes of getting a better head someday. After all, if there's one person we can be certain WWE never loses the rights to, it's Vincent K. (Actually I'm pretty sure he's the only one that is 100% never losing the rights on. After all, if Shane can leave, so theoretically can Steph and Trips. But Vince? Nah.)

And IMHO I don't see them losing the rights to him in either of those scenarios. It would likely taking the second to happen followed by the first. If Vince dies and he's still in charge? His kids get the company and they keep making Vince figures. If he sells the company? I still don't see him as being disconnected from a licensing standpoint. Call me crazy, but Vince has an Ego the size of the sun. He will have his fingerprints smeared all over the WWE long after he's no longer connected with it. If the day comes that Vince is no longer an option for WWE merchandise I am almost certain it will be in a situation where the new owners of the WWE, who are NOT related to Vince, decide that he is too toxic of an individual to be associated with and THEY cut ties sometime after his demise. Vince is crazy enough and desperate enough for a legacy that he will write his posthumous involvement with the company into his friggin WILL. This man has lawyered his way out of too many sh*tshows for me to believe he's above writing his forced legacy into the acquisition papers of whoever he sells the company to.

If Vince dies then Linda will likely inherit everything. Will she allow merchandise be produced using his name and likeness? Possibly, but I can also see a scenario where she wouldn’t want action figures made of her dead husband.

Last time I checked that one guy (you know the one) had Ellering BAFs still for sale complete for 35 bucks. If you hit the sweet spot on secondary I'm sure you can get Vince for about 40 bucks. Really, for a complete BAF? That's really stonking cheap.

I get the gimmick but they usually have at least two in the set that old school guys want to collect, especially if the BAF is an old school one. Ellering had HBK & Chyna then two more modern versions of Edge and old man Goldberg. I didn’t mind that and could get a small amount back selling Edge and the Goldberg but this time around the whole set is useless to old school collectors…which would be fine if the BAF was something from 2009 onwards or something but a Wrestlemania 3 Vince with these 4 attires? That’s a crappy move. At this point the Flashback/legend era has come to include '08-'09 pre-Mattel License. It's been 12 years since that era. Just like with Jakks, when they started making 2002-03 era Classic Superstars in 2008-09 Still doesn’t make sense to put these attires with a WM3 Vince. Those who see that Vince as nostalgic and collect what they see as their old school era won’t want these attires. Mattel need to stick appropriate attires with the same era as whatever the BAF is, in my view.

Just realized that HBK, Austin, and Bret are all from their final Wrestlemania matches, while AJ is from Taker's last. I wonder if that was done on purpose?

I hope HBK has a sculpted vest especially if all the other figures are fairly simple figures.

If one of y'all wants to sell me the Bret, you can keep the Vince BAF piece as long as I get all the Bret-related accessories. Cut me a deal.

Vince will be like every other figure that’s released, sit at around $80 then start coming down and will be like $25 like Ellering is now. Which I’ll gladly pay $50 or whatever for it, but I’m not spending $130 for 4 figures I don’t want just to get the 1 I do want.

One in a set, yes…maybe two…but a whole set just takes advantage of collectors. They design and choose the sets, if they thought figures were going to be undesirable and need a gimmick to sell them, why make them in the first place?! 😅

Speaking of Vince, they should do a WM 17 Vince in next year's set (with soft goods black/red shirt and black tank underneath).

Because AFA confirmed Bret is WM26 I canceled my preorder. I already have two of the original BAF and honestly I don’t want/need another version. Especially at a higher price with shipping. I am sure it’ll sit around like this years Edge and Chyna that I can walk into multiple stores and buy multiple of each if I wanted so if I decided the figure is an upgrade from the original there will be plenty of opportunities to get it locally.

I'm hoping they at least get the wrist tape right this time and include the leather jacket (even if that means painting on the shirt, like the E72 Becky).

I'm curious to see proto pictures. Worst case, I don't like how they look and I cancel my order.
Would be interesting if Bret came with a swappable head to go from young to old.
Don't really need another Austin in ring gear, but I'm curious to see which head they use.
AJ being in the Boneyard Gear will be cool to go with the Undertaker figure.
And I'm really excited for a new Shawn with chaps. Wonder if he'll have entrance gear or not.
