Wasn’t sure whether to put this in the AEW board or WWE since it pertains to both, but figured I’d go with the E since it is the board that has been around the longest. So I went to Dynamite in Cincinnati, September 8, second row - 500 dollars. Last night I went to a WWE Supershow house show in Lexington, Kentucky, floor seats but further back, maybe like 20th row but still really close. Scenario one was 500 dollars, as aforementioned. Scenario two? 35 bucks. How is this possible? I get that scenario one was second row, on TV (the camera definitely picked me up), and featured a Rampage taping. It was the first Dynamite after a huge PPV, and the first Dynamite for Danielson and Cole. And we got a Punk appearance. Regardless, it still baffles me. The Supershow featured all the big names - Reigns, Big E, Nakamura, Rollins, Balor, Lashley, Belair, Lynch, etc. Technically it even had title matches, though we know the belt doesn’t switch on house shows. Regardless…500 vs. 35, how the hell does this happen?
I’m not trying to compare promotions here, I didn’t mean for it to be thought of that way as I see where the last thread was locked. I’m guessing price differences can exist in a major way within-company too, maybe this has more to do with TV vs. house show than anything else. Hope this is alright to ask.

House Show vs. TV? Company that (whether some on here want to admit it or not) is red hot right now vs. Company that is kind of going through the motions at times. Was it also from the secondary market?
I did notice that SD’s ramp last week seemed incredibly short (as opposed to years ago not recently so maybe not that recent of a change). But it seemed like it was a way to hide lack of ticket sales so maybe WWE’s price is lower because it’s easier to get tickets.
Idk, just making assumptions to possibilities at this point.

Better not be comparing anything I didn’t mean for this to be like that, because I figure major rate differences exist within-company too. If it needs to be locked it can, I was just amazed.

Televised wrestling event is always gonna be more than a house show event - no matter what promotion it is.

Say what you want about WWE, but they treat their fans as that.... fans.
AEW sees the fans as marks. They know that, because they mark out for everything AEW does now. So they can put a ridiculous price, knowing fans will pay it so they can see CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Adam Cole and the others live and in person.

Floor seats suck anyways unless you’re front row or ramp aisle. I’m short and will take lower level any-day over overpriced floor seats. Last Raw or SD I went to guys from the floor came to sit next to me in empty seats because the garbage view.

The ramp has been significantly shorter on both shows since the new sets debuted

That $500 ticket had to be an "Official Platinum" or verified reseller ticket. Ticketmaster will place an "Official Platinum" designation on that ticket and charge an absurd amount for it because it's the hot ticket and good seat. Over the years Ticketmaster has become every bit as despicable as Pearl Jam said they were back in the 90's. It's a gamble, but sometimes if you wait until a few days before the event, Ticketmaster will drop the Official Platinum tag and you can get the ticket for regular price.

Prices for both companies these days are absurd. Neither of them are putting out content worthy of charging people hundreds of dollars to attend. Sadly there are always people willing to pay it.

First five rows for TV have a $500 price point for WWE, I assume it’s the same for AEW.

Meh I was gonna go to the Dynamite/Rampage double taping leading up to the last PPV and it was only $300 something for the floor seats AKA standing for 2-3 hours lol, not a bad price for that kind of thing imo.

WWE for years has made their hard cam in the first few rows $500 a piece.
I went to Dynamite in August in Pittsburgh and got 2nd row floor and paid 225 for 2 after taxes and fees.
On the whole, AEW is top to bottom more affordable right now for tickets.

I wonder how much NWA seats go for? When they did the last show at the Chase, tickets were $35-100 and then just $30 for the powerr tapings.

Sadly, apparently your joke is now based in reality, because we'd rather ban topics than toxic members. Genuinely don't understand how that person has been allowed to talk to people the way he does for over a decade.
