I’ve noticed that a lot of the latest RSC exclusive figures seem to have not sold so well. This includes WALTER, Warrior, Edge, Cena, Wyatt, and probably others as well.
I’m hoping to get Wyatt before he sells out, just in case, and I even purchased two Warriors thinking he would sell better than he has. I won’t count Cactus in this because I’m sure some people were waiting until better pics came out for him plus he just came out, so we’ll leave him out for now.
In your opinion, why do you think the latest RSC exclusives have not sold so well?

Personally the packaging design is horrible if you collect MOC. You have to open the window doors on the box to even see the figure so it's no longer a clean box. Also the choices have been a bit underwhelming in my opinion. Only got Walter because I was at the NXT show from which its based. Basic Wyatt is better than exclusive but it's the only way to get the puppets. Warrior will sell out as will Cena I'm sure. I think they are just making more as well.

For me the rsc exclusives were like ‘elite +’
There was something more to them than just being an elite and often they seemed like the ultimate version of a figure.
I think the ultimate line has taken that place and have come out frequently enough to take the shine off the exclusives
Also I don’ think the choice of exclusives is that great of late
Wyatt - missed the peak of fffh and fiend popularity
Edge - gimmicky
Walter - popular only to a certain section of fans

I think they are ordering more than 1 run of each figure. That warrior is fantastic, definitely going to order it. I do agree with some of the choices not being ideal though, the edge is my least favorite edge figure but I do like the packaging for it.

They've been crap for years. The peaked early on with nwo macho, flash rey, undisputed Lesnar, scsa, hardcore Kane, rated r edge, etc. They mostly came with belts that weren't super common. They had some hom runs after like nwo Scott hall and a few others. But for the most part they fell way off for at least 4 or 5 years.

Most have been underwhelming for me, and I've gone from buying every single RSC exclusive to maybe grabbing 1-2 a year. But that's been an issue going back a few years at this point.
That said, not sure where you're getting the impression that they aren't selling. Even many of the popular RSC exclusives, like the Wolfpac figures, were up on the site for ages. They have to order a significant quantity and RSC is a specialty online retailer. Just because something isn't instantly unavailable doesn't mean there isn't interest for the figure.

My first ever RSC Exclusive was the "Shane O Mac" one (of course) and my immediate reaction was "This is an Exclusive??? They didn't even give him his elbow pads!"
That said, I like some of the exclusives we've gotten since then. I bought Bray just for the puppets. Taker as Kane is the third one I have and I had only bought him as a stand in for a classic Kane figure. Now that I have the UE coming, that exclusive is going in a drawer. I hope to at one point get the nWo Cena for my Funhouse display and I want Cactus as well. Lights Out Britt is also going to be mine someday I will make sure of that.
But some of the exclusives have puzzled the crap out of me. Edgeheads? OK, neat concept, but you have to buy three of them to do it right and how many people would find that worth it? Shield Kurt? Yeeaaaah, no. WALTER? Great figure but a heck of a small target audience. The Brian Kendrick? Same thing as WALTER although he did sell out and we never got another of him so this one was fine.
Personally, I find the exclusives to be very hit or miss. Some are great. Some, not so much. But really anything that gets more unique figures in my hands I'm here for. I have since given my KOR Shane a pair of elbow pads and I love him. I made little stands for all the puppets and they have their home with the Basic FFH Bray. As I said, the third one is in a drawer, although I might cheat a bit and use the body from him and put the spare head from the UE on it to make a mashup that corrects the height. Haven't decided yet. Would have to paint it first.
Anyway, just my thoughts.

I think Bray was rushed and the figure sucked and was missing a puppet. Edge didn't turn out that well and came with two extra heads that you'd have to swap with the one figure. Walter was a nice figure but not everyone watches NXT UK. Talent choice lately seems very lackluster compared to earlier exclusives like the NWO, Bret and CM Punk

He was vocal about buying about 10 versions for his many sub-collections (mib, unboxed, one with each head on..,) and a bit of a vanity product imo |

I felt like the ringside exclusives used to be figures of wrestlers we wanted that also had attires alot of us wanted, that weren't in the main line. That doesn't seem the same anymore. It seems like lately we're getting "ok" wrestler, with "ok" attires as ringside exclusives.

Honestly, stuff for small target audiences is what I'd like to see out of them. I don't know how achievable a WALTER figure would've been in the normal Elite line. If they want to just keep pumping out NXT and NXT UK figures, keep at it. I needs me a Meiko Satomura.
I guess the question is, what are the exclusives aiming to do? The AEW ones are basically just repaints with nice packaging so that a newer line can make some extra profit on all the new parts they've had to tool. But with WWE, there's such a steady influx of product that I don't know how much they should be releasing main eventers for these exclusives. I can definitely get behind very specific moments or looks, like with nWo Cena, though. This would be a perfect format for us to finally get BROCK PARTY.
But for most of these, I think fan favorite types like Ciampa who don't get many Elites but have strong followings are the best option. Takeover IYH Pete Dunne with the white gear, for instance, or Butler Cameron Grimes after he gets his first Elite of his normal look.

Warrior got put on back-order and came later than expected. He did just fine. Some of the others have just been modern talent, which probably doesn't resonate as well with older collectors.
