As someone who lives outside the US, it has to be really worth my while to bother buying an exclusive as there's a bit of hassle/expense involved with delivery times, VAT, import duties and the general cost being much higher as a result.
(albeit, of course, this goes for me buying anything off a US-based website).
I'm a Kane fan, so bought the Undertaker As Kane (as it can stand in as a general Kane figure). I think they would do relatively well to stick to popular characters, or do double packs where a rarer character is teamed with a more popular character. Kane VS Raven at Mania x7. All the people that want Raven would buy it for Raven, whereas people that don't care about Raven likely would pick it up for another shot at that outfit on Kane (without the name on the glove). Things like that, would work well, I reckon. (its just a random example).
Things like the Edgeheads figure, where you have to buy a single-priced figure, three times over, is a bit of a wallet-gouger. It is an interesting novelty idea, all the same, though, and it does kinda work in the sense that you, if you were a big fan of Ryder for example, might not get a chance to get him in any other line, so you can get a headscan for him here. I don't think it particularly appeals to the masses, though.
