Anybody know the story behind this Sting attire? Why was it so heavily marketed in ‘99!? I totally get that wrestling companies, especially back then, would at times make fun little lines like S.T.O.M.P or Maximum Sweat, and they would wear attire that was made up…but these attires usually didn’t cross into the main line of figures.
Was this something Sting actually wore, or was he supposed to wear it and never did? I’ve always been curious, I have just assumed it was a “toy” look for Sting, but over the years I have noticed just how much product there was of it, and it’s been featured in several different sculpts, marketing etc. USUALLY the fantasy attires don’t get such top billing, especially alongside the regular line where everybody else is just in regular wrestling attire.
it leads me to believe Sting actually wore this or was supposed to but I have never seen it.

Here’s some more product of Sting in that attire. It’s just strange, it was like Stings unofficial look of 1999. I’ve never seen any other fantasy look featured in so many molds/ product. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

I had that figure but it came on a motorcycle. I don’t know the story behind it but I also didn’t know they made so many of it.

Oh Jeez, so theres another!? lol I had the very first one that I posted as a kid (I still have it actually), but when I got it I didn’t think anything of it. In recent years I’ve always seen it pop up in other forms and I’m like, how many were there!? I’m hoping one of you guys knows the story, for all I know he wore it as a one off and I just haven’t seen it It’s unusual for any wrestling toy line to feature an attire so extensively, especially if it was fake haha Attachment Deleted

Often wondered this myself...one thing I do know? I had them all except for the Grip/Flip sh#t.
That Sting Hart 2 pack was potentially my favorite TB WCW buy...that Hart was likely my most used figure.
I had the Bruiser first...bought it with Nash. Then came the 2 pack...I think I bought the bike & car the same day.
Sting had an Austin vibe in my fed effin up the heels with vehicles & his bat 😂😂

So I never had WCW figures, I only collected the WWF Jakks BCA style figures then to play around with in my figure fed. So I am curious...
Did you have two separate feds going on?? Like a WCW fed with the WCW figures or did you have one fed with the WWF BCA figures wrestling with the WCW figures??

2 separate man...my WCW fed was the business...loved it. Took so many ideas from so many promotions for it.

I was watching a recent Major Wrestling Pod with the Kiss Demon
Is there any chance this Sting is the unreleased MVP figure??

Toybiz figures were underrated for their time. However there was a lot of questionable designs.
