This is easily the best Bret Hart head sculpt that Mattel has ever done. Finally, for once, they abandoned the moist hair look that’s ruined his past figures and they’ve instead given him a scan that represents his likeness well (unlike the Survivor Series elite of him).
Honestly? I’d buy the Bret/Goldberg 2-pack, buy this Bret Hart, and do a headswap. It’s that good of a scan that it warrants buying the figure for parts, IMO

Can Mattel release Stone Cold with thicker thighs? Mattel used thicker thighs on Stunning Steve Austin which looked great but can't do the same for Stone Cold. 😑 Spreadsheets, my friend. Spreadsheets.

The hair sculpt is great for a modern Bret, but aside from that it looks like smigle from Lord of the Rings cosplaying as Bret. The best Bret scan imo is the first DM. The only thing taking away from it is the bad hairs sculpt.

Is that Vince McMahon or Chris Colfer from Glee?

This set makes me want to buy it and open it as well as most of my MOC collection to display lol. Would love a Detolf full of loose figs but can’t bring myself to it, at least not yet. Also, I want all 4 so I can have Vince complete as well but it feels kind of pointless if I’m keeping them MOC (other than potential value later of having the complete set MOC). If I wouldn’t be opening them that makes me want to mainly just get HBK. You could always do both. Maybe not for this set specifically having to buy it all twice, but in general. I’m an MOC guy, but I’ve made a little loose collection throughout this past year. All of figures that I also have MOC (aside from two due to circumstances/technicalities, and a few basics which I don’t otherwise collect). Unfortunately I can’t do both due to finances. I’d normally rather buy another figure I like rather than 2 of the same (although I have gotten 2 of the same before, but mainly only get one).

Spreadsheets, my friend. Spreadsheets. What do you mean? Bill has long denied it, but it seems once a wrestler has been given specific parts - he won't change them. Hence why we call it "spreadsheeting".

And it could be factory miscommunication, but you’d think after 10 years they’d figure it out unless it’s cost issue, which makes sense why they’d do it. Look at best of attitude era HHH. He always gets the big ripped torso, or the Sheamus/del rio one. This they just gave him the Austin/Bulldog one. Why? Because it was probably easier/cheaper to keep the boae Austin and just change the skintone, head and accessories. Rock elites have two torsos, but they gave the Summerslam/KotR exclusive the big HHH one…

Ok makes sense what you said regarding Bill and his part choices on certain wrestlers. I wonder who chose the parts on Stunning Steve Austin? Surely not Bill?

They’re specifically tooled for Austin, so the whole recipe will never change even if it absolutely should. Stunning Steve and Ringmaster have the higher boots, so they can get the legs that go with them.

I managed to use the Stunning Steve Austin thighs and the usual lower legs for Austin and got this. It can be done but Mattel and Bill seem to be lazy to fix this problem.

Elite Austin’s skinny baby arms are a way worse issue than the legs , imo

That would explain why every basic and elite Mankind has the same arms even though they could have changed things up with the Shane McMahon jersey sleeves just to change it up after all these years.

Many of us have been asking for an Elite Austin with bigger arms and legs for years and years. It's such a bizarre refusal on Mattel's part. It's right up there with them not giving Basic Randy Savage figures the correct boots when we all know they have them.

Just laughable.

A small amount of Collectors are the only ones complaining about the austin figures.

A small amount of Collectors are the only ones complaining about the austin figures. And it’s such an easy fix with parts they already have that there’s no justification for it to not be changed after a decade

If they originally had the arms you all want, you’d still be throwing a fit on here about it anyway
