Do you think the Papa Shango gimmick would work in the Attitude Era? I could see him in the ministry.

I dont know about that. It was too silly even for the New Generation Era.

Square peg in a round hole. I'd imagine the character would have evolved somewhat but so did Bulldog & he was so out of place in the Attitude Era like Shango would also have been.

Couldnt see him doing much but the voodoo stuff wouldve been interesting considering the era.I can see instead of black goo coming down someone's face it would be blood instead. The updated look was cool I will say that

I could see it working in 1997 when Paul Bearer was bringing back Kane to feud with the Undertaker.
But as for 1998?? No way. Though Gangrel worked in the Attitude Era, but that felt different. That somehow worked.

That somehow worked. I always felt Gangrel worked because he was aligned with young guys that had some fire excuse the pun. On his own, Gangrel couldn't talk, lost most of his matches & got fired cause Vince didn't like his physique. Shango probably would have been in a heel version of the oddities.

Depends on when you define the attitude era but could have taken the place of the executioner to add an extra dimension to the Mankind/Taker feud.

Of course it could have worked. As much as people like to praise the Attitude Era for being some kinda era for redefining of pro wrestling, it was filled with goofy ass gimmicks. Satanic leaders, Vampires, Porn Stars, Pimps, Bikers, Cowboys, militia and whatever the hell you'd classify the garbage Goldust kept doing.

Definitely would've made a better ministry member than mideon, viscera or the acolytes but he had the more appropriate gimmick for the attitude era.

Taker as the main guy, Shango as the mid carder, APA as your tag team and if you want still keep Viscera as your muscle. Once you get into Brood & Mideon it felt like Scott Norton & Stevie Ray of nWo...just unnecessary.
