I'll admit I'm out of touch a little with WWE but from reading results and reponses by the fans, I don't think they need an endgame just yet, Reigns has continued to evolve his character and stable in a way that's keeping his reign as champion fresh.
I could see AJ coming back up, and even Riddle, maybe even Solo can come to the main stage.

I would pick AJ Styles because he can bring out the best in any opponent. I still wish he had a real wrestling match with the Undertaker.

The plan is to have Roman Reigns hold the Championship for 4,041 days...or more. Then he will retire as Universal Champion, and then retire the Universal Championship Title Belt.

Roman holds until MITB 2022
Wins briefcase super heelish by basically doing nothing. His reasoning is that he’s been the champion for nearly 2 years so he’s gonna win the case and win the WWE championship and be the head of the WWE Universe
Defends later in the night against Riddle and loses clean. New champ. Big moment. Easy way to transition Roman away from Riddle and RR has a potential 365 day story with the briefcase in hand.

I know it won't happen, but I'd be all in favor of Walter showing up on SmackDown and just destroying Reigns and his title run.
Would also be all for Sami Zayn taking the championship as well.
