Per Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful. Jeff Hardy has been released today. Hardy had been offered rehab by the company and it was turned down. It is not known whether or not if it was alcohol or drug related or both.
This stemmed from a series of things but came to head at a house show in Texas last week where when in a 6 man tag match with Drew McIntyre & Xavier Woods vs Roman Reigns & The Usos. Hardy got the hot tag to Drew and then left through the crowd in an unplanned exit. Hardy was then sent home. The match had been constructed on the fly to work around Jeff, Hardy was not in the match for long and had not been seen much throughout the day.
It is said to not be in the same breath as the Victory Road 2011 incident but may be similar. Hardy went into the crowd and took photos with fans while his teammates were wondering where he went.

Fightful reporting he was offered rehab and refused. It sucks that addiction has such a strong hold on so many people. Hope he finds a way to eventually stay healthy.

Them crowd reactions he's been getting recently man. I thought this could have been one great run, definitely a title shot. Let's hope he can recover & bounce back healthy.

I'm sure I'll get heat for this, but I hope no other company picks him up if he refused rehab. He's too big of a liability.

I wish Jeff all the best but if he's refused help they're well within their rights to release him.
Unfortunately this is likely the end of him in WWE which is a real shame.

How many times is this for Jeff Hardy? Since he has a 90 non-compete I don't see him going anywhere till March 9th, 2022, I don't think any company should sign him cause of this even AEW and Impact Wrestling.

Sad. But it's his life, not ours. We have no idea what he's going through. Sometimes people just want to be left alone. He's probably burned out & needs time off. I wish him the best of luck.

It's disappointing, but it's not the first time he's denied getting help with his addictions from WWE.
Hopefully he eventually gets the help he needs and maybe it's just time to call it a career.

Damn, Jeff’s been my favorite since I was a kid so this hurts. Having had drug/alcohol addiction issues within my family my heart goes out to his wife and kids.
Really hope that whatever it is he is dealing with, that he can beat and get back on track. Would be awesome if Mox maybe could reach out to him.

He will be in AEW next year. Thats easy to see. Hope he enjoys his time off from the road for a bit. Glad he's okay. Wont be like the last time we see him in a major promotion. Sells too much merch and the fan base is too loyal.

honestly with his age and what his bodies been through, I don’t mean to speculate, but it’s a reasonable guess to assume that his pain medication has gotten away on him and went from use to abuse, very likely because he couldn’t maintain the schedule any more.
it’s truly sad to see, I hope he can overcome it.

His wife, Beth, has stated that they are good and that Jeff is good. Seems like maybe things were taken out of proportion. Who knows.

I'd have left the match too if I had to do a house show. WWE needs to stop doing these things. Poor workers on the road so many days a year.
