MonsoonMan -- I didn't think that Owen looked good on his own, but next to Bret it seems a better figure than I thought

Coming in today with a House of Black SundayUnmatched 6 Malakai BlackAppearing out of the darkness today is AleisterMalakai Black! This is Malakai's Debut to the AEW line and the figure is GREAT. i really want his supreme figure but havent had a chance to score it at a reasonable price just yet. this figure comes to us in some amazing entrance gear, we get the skull mask, hooded trenchcoat and bandana face covering. The Hooded trenchcoat is the dreaded molded rubber, however it is fairly malleable and the sculpting looks great. it features a cool design along the back where the material culminates into a spinal cord design, very macabre, very evil, very house of black. the bandana face covering connected to the attire via pegs that plug into the hood. the skull mask is sculpted into the face and i think its for the best as it lines up with the face and attire perfectly. the mask can be worn without the included bandana and coat and still look badass; i had alot of fun posing this Malakai figure. Mr.Black was packaged with a non masked headsculpt and it features the darkness facepaint and infected eye. i kinda feel like this headsculpt is the weak point of the figure; everything looks very animated and cartoonish. the eyes, the beard, the paint apps on the facepaint--it does follow AEW's art style, but man they really lost me here with this headsculpt. the term i use is they give the characters 'anime' eyes and it just takes away the realism aspect--like i do see Malakai's likeness in the design and sculpt but its as if its him in a softened.....anime filter? EITHER WAY, beyond the head i do like the body sculpting for the figure. like the Bryan Danielson figure he does seem to be rather chesty in proportions, but Malakai's actual physique is kinda like that. i really like all of the tattoo applications--it does seem like the paint apps on my figures stomach area are placed a little low, but the color seems appropriate. All in All i really think this Malakai Black figure is an awesome addition to the lineup, but i wish they would do a little more with the headsculpts and paint apps to bring them to a more realistic feeling realm of design.

Does that NXT jacket fit the AEW version? Also, if you look at Soho's alternate hand, there is some finger tats, they didn't put on the devil horns one.

Does that NXT jacket fit the AEW version? Also, if you look at Soho's alternate hand, there is some finger tats, they didn't put on the devil horns one. yes the nXt jacket does fit the AEW figure! Target Exclusive Samoa JoeChoking the reviews out today is the debut to the AEW line of SAMOA JOE! i was really excited to see Samoa Joe arrive to the line and this is a great first figure for him. This Samoa Joe comes to us as a Target Exclusive clad in red and black, they did a really neat teaser and reveal video for the figure which i felt was pretty special. I really like the metallic red of the Target Exclusive figures and seemingly red themed color schemes for the figures. The headsculpt on this Joe figure is REALLY good, we get Joe in a menacing, determined, BRING IT THE F*** ON look on his face and Joe's likeness is captured and prominent from all angles on the head. This Joe does come sporting his longer Mohawk hairstyle with faded sides; the hair is the thing that does kinda throw off the symmetry of the head a bit. the hair is sculpted as being kinda messy and unkempt and it is kinda laying to the left a bit so looking straight on the mohawk looks uneven---just something my eyes are drawn too and i wanted to bring up. This Joe comes with a softgoods towel for an accessory-it is awesome they chose the perfect material and it looks great with/on the figure. Joe has a brand new torso just for him and it looks good BUT i feel like it is really slim for samoa joe at this stage in his career. he still looks beefy and bulky amongst the other aew figures, but i think his figure could use more girth. Joe was given a black painted on sweatband on his left arm and sculpted white wrist/hand wraps. Joe was also given some brand new interchangeable hands with his signature hand signal--they do seem to be a bit undersized? they look great for posing but yeah the sculpt could use a little re-sizing for the next go around. Samoan Joseph comes to the ring as mentioned wearing his signature red and black fighter shorts, these are a half and half really muted red color and black, the sculpting looks really good and poseability is great. Going down the figure, Joe was given some brand new sculpted knee pads and i personally really like them however they do restrict poseability quite a bit, maybe being molded in a lighter rubber would help future joes but i do slightly prefer these molded kneepads over the mattel sculpted kneepad design route. finally Joe was given his signature black kickpads for kicking peoples heads in. all in all this Target Exclusive Joe is really an amazing figure. headsculpt is ace, accessories and hands are very cool, attire is spot on--i just think that they needed to make his torso a bit bulkier to really achieve that Samoa Joe "Joe's Gonna Kill You" imposing physique.

Unrivaled 13 Stingsplashing into the reviews today is the Unrivaled 13 Sting! Sting is a guy that i will always buy his figures whenever i see them on the pegs.....even though theyre all exactly the same š This Stinger comes to us with a new teeth bearing angry, focused, serious face and it looks really good and captures the Stingers look and likeness perfectly from all angles. for entrance gear, Sting was given a black leather trenchcoat molded in solid rubber and i hate the crap out of it. it really fooled me at first because the texture looks REALLY good for rubber, it really does capture that texture of leather quite well. the biggest most disgusting flop factor on this coat is the fact that they molded the sleeves in a stationary position locked to the hip area AND I HATE IT SO MOTHERFREAKING MUCH. lately the rubber technology has been getting a tad better in the sense that some sleeves are more malleable than others and you can still do something to pose them but this jacket essentially turns the figure into a statue. its a shame because they even included the white scorpion logo on the back, the texture looks great, it looks great otherwise but the fact that those sleeves are locked in just kills this its absolute garbage to me. underneath the jacket sting is wearing his longsleeve tshirt ring gear featuring a big white scorpion on the front and all black gloves. The rest of this figure is classic Stinger seeing him work in the ring in his classic Sting tights with the pads on the fronts and white scorpion tails peeking down from under the shirt. Finishing up this figure are some short black boots with silver scorpions on the sides. all in all this is a pretty classic, standard Sting figure. the new headsculpt is really good i like the attitude it portrays for stinger. the rest of the figure is honestly no different than any other Sting figure made by jazwares so far barring the tshirt design, so take that for what you will. i ABSOLUTELY hate the rubber jacket; like, i really do not like the locked in molded sleeves design that was not a great move at all, IMO.

š¦š¦š¦ Happy Thanksgiving!!! š¦š¦š¦ lots to be thankful for this year, lots to be grateful for this year. AEW figures have been pretty steady and have been really really cool this year so far. i will openly admit that with my new job being able to travel and see the retail stuff available in multiple states and cities, etc the AEW figure offerings are awful. just countless amounts of santana, ortiz, mjf, tay conti, anna jay, john silver just clogging and rotting on the pegs. i even still see RIHO on the pegs in some stores still. they really need to push that initiative to get those figures off of the shelves because they are just not moving AT ALL. another thing too that ive noticed with the recent wal mart exclusives is that theyre really dropping a BOMB load of figures at each store. just a WAVE of purple jerichos and eddie kingston figures smeared all over the shelves. when theyre good figures--hell yeah bring it on but a figure like the kingston maybe dial it back a bit i dont see many fans really tripping over themselves to get that one. ANYWAYS coming in today with a 2 pack of some very nice and very evil and handsome figures Hookhausen 2 packHOOKcoming in today is one of the coolest two packs that we've gotten so far--Hookhausen! i believe this is the official ring gear debut of DanHausen's figure beyond the RSE figure. Starting off with the Handsome Devil Hook, the headsculpts for this figure are really really good. i was a little curious how they would handle his swept up hairstyle, but jazwares did a great job capturing the look and the heads portray HOOK very well. both headsculpts show HOOK in a serious, determined expression but offer differing hairstyles-one being a very spiky longer hair style, the other seeming more curly and shorter hair look. the body recipe and tattoo placement for HOOK looks great, the body recipe captures his slim, athletic frame and all of his tattoos are printed crisp and clear on the figure. HOOK comes to the ring wearing a silver chain and some white handwraps and ill always love how Jazwares sculpts the handwraps unlike mattel who simply paints them on. HOOK is wearing some black boxing style shorts with the white HOOK logo on the center of the waistband, the sculpt and fit looks great. finishing up this figure, HOOK is wearing some white boxing style boots. all in all this HOOK figure from the Tag Team Two Pack is well worth the pickup. We get an awesome HOOK figure in some new black shorts and two really good headsculpts. the poseability of this figure is great too, its really fun to get him in menacing, intimidating poses

AEW Champion 4 Packā”š¹ Thunder Rosaš¹ā” I mentioned in my mattel thread that this year was the year of multi figure packs and Ill be damed if AEW didnāt give it the beans aswell. I typically DONāT buy 4 figure multi packs because they are either redundant figures I donāt need or useless repaintsā¦.BUT jazwares outdid themselves with this pack and checked a lot of boxes. Im sure weāll be seeing these belts in single pack releases down the line but they did a great job of introducing them in a multi pack and made the figures interesting aswell. All of these figures were given a Gold theme including some new belts to the series and so lets see how they scale up! Coming in first, I have to do my favorite AEW womens roster member THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER Rosa!!! This figure is essentially her unmatched 7 figure, this time however instead of sporting a radiant yellow lightning bolt attire, she is clad in gold. reminiscent of a Goldust attire a little bit. This figure features her straight faced, determined scan and unfortunately is one of the figures in the pack that received NO additional heads or hands. As I mentioned in my unmatched 7 review, the headsculpt and paint apps to this head are amazing and really capture a likeness to Rosa both on the painted and unpainted sides of her face. As mentioned, Rosa comes to the ring wearing her lightning bolt attire sparking out in gold and black. The main draw to this figure as we all know is the prized new version of the AEW Womens world championship. The belt looks amazing and it is scaled REALLY well with multiple other figures. Jazwares really killed this championship and belt design. All in all YES, this Thunder Rosa is worth the buy and worth the spot in the collection, even if you just want the belt, the figure is still worth it!! i do wish we had gotten the extra head and hands for this figure as i feel like its a little devauled being shorted like that, but its still a solid offering.

AEW Champion 4 PackMJFComing in DEAD LAST to the reviews š is the current AEW World champion MJF. MJF comes to us wrapped up in opulent gold threads; his scarf is a neat metallic gold color-I really like their choice of material for it. MJF also comes to the ring wearing a GOLD ring on his pinky, golden plaid wristwraps and golden trunks. The main draw to this figure(imo) is the AEW World Championship belt with new brown plaid strap. Jazwares did a good job on the strap, the brown looks good and in certain lighting you can see the stripes, so if you want to use this for any other figure than MJF it would still look pretty cool. All in all this is Goldmember MJF figure---like the others is truthfully pretty run of the mill however just wearing all gold gear. As mentioned, I do like the idea of their gold coordinated outfits much better than just repacking some figures in the box with new belts and calling it a day. I do like the brown strap AEW championship, for the belt nerds out there it gives me āCrumrine Big Goldā vibes and thatās pretty rad. The MJF figure is really nothing special, the headsculpt is one weāve seen many times over, we get an interchangeable hand with the Ring and a microphone for cutting scathing promos on pheasants. As mentioned, I do like the golden scarf but had this figure been something like a shopaew standalone release, I wouldnāt jump for it. All in all the AEW champion 4 pack was, imo, very interesting and it was a neat little release overall. They literally could have just repacked 4 top selling figures and some belts and called it a day but they decided to clad all of these ring warriors in gold to commemorate their championship conquests. The new brown strap AEW belt is cool-brown and gold always looks classy, the new AEW Womenās belt looks incredible, very happy with this new release, the AEW International belt looks very cool-very good execution on jazwares behalf, and the TNT title is just kindaā¦.represented. honestly if you can get this pack for under the $80 price tag I say jump all over it but really the new belts will see individual releases later on and just ask yourself if you would buy a golden themed attire as a standalone release because that how the price breaks down. Its cool but I see a lot of people getting it for the new belts alone or maybe just one figure and its not worth it for that alone.

Unrivaled 11 Darby AllinCoffin dropping into the reviews today is unrivaled 11 Darby Allin. He was a gift to my collection courtesy of the ringside black Friday sales at $8 and the only reason I bought him is because I was able to score the matching sting figure in stores a long time ago, now I have the matching set! I, however, had that sting figure buried in my storage drawers and didnāt really have the desire to dig him out for pics just yet. This Darby figure is super rad, the headsculpt on this figure portrays Darby in a serious, quite menacing straight faced expression and it looks great! The main draw is the half sting/half Darby face paint and it looks SO freaking cool. As I mentioned Iām a little miffed about not getting to my sting figure for pics but he was buried deep in the stack. Beyond the killer face paint, Darby is wearing a silver chain necklace and has sculpted white taped fists. For this match, Darby came to the ring in some dark olive colored cargo jeans which look cool featuring numerous tears on the legs and at the knees and they articulate well. For accessories Darby came with his own black baseball bat, bottle and interchangeable hands. All in all, this is a really rad Darby figure, the half sting/half Darby face paint look is really cool and this figure looks amazing when posed up next to the matching Sting figure. It was a great price during the ringside black Friday sales it honestly looks like they finally sold out but I really do like this Darby figure, I had a lot of fun posing him around.

šHappy new AEW Yearš Unrivaled 13 BladeSlicing into the reviews today is one of my favorite tag teamsānot only in AEW, but on the entire wrestling sceneāThe Butcher and the Blade! Love the name, love their look, love their gimmick, lets see if I love their figures. Coming up first is ofcourse the Blade he comes to us utilizing two headsculpts; one an entrance/promo gear Blade and the other a match look Blade. The Entrance Gear headsculpt features Blade sporting his signature black bandana sculpted covering his nose and face, entrance gear also includes some round lens black sunglasses, black worker cap, and the dreaded molded rubber coat.. When its all compiled on the figure it looks great! Blade looks like an absolute menace. Underneath the gear the match look headsculpt is GOOD, I think it looks just a bit cartoonish-its all in the jazwares eye sculpting and details. The beard doesnāt look ultra ārealisticā in its sculpting and paint apps either but at this point no one can claim their goal is photorealism. I like the body choice and recipe. I think that they could have gone with a more shredded look in the torsoāBlade more often than not is sporting an 8 pack of abs on tv and if anyone needs their figure to represent thatāits Blade, but the arms look good and decent. The skintone could be a shade or two darker aswell. I do feel like Jazwares slipped up by not giving Blade gloved hands, I put some gloved hands from one of my Sting figures on Blade and it looks way better, Blade really would have benefitted from having those from the factory. Going down the figure they gave Blade his black leather tights secured with belt on the waist. The tights feature a white āBladeā logo on the back and it looks really good, the font reminds me of Motorhead. Finishing up the figure are some black kneepads and tall black boots. All in all I really like this Blade figure. When he is all geared out in his entrance look, he definitely looks like a Villain, bad guy, bad ass! I wish Jazwares gave him the black leather gloves, that would have added a little bit more to his look, there is a lot of just straight black gear going on with this figureānot a bad thing but it adds to the character or the mystique of the character for those not familiar with him.
